Stanley Konat of Brownsville, Pa., took a chance on a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won a $410,432 jackpot.

Konat, in town visiting his daughter, bought his lucky Quick Pick ticket for the Jan. 5 drawing from Pik & Go on Broad Street in Rural Hall. The odds of matching all five balls are 1 in 962,598.

He claimed his prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required federal and state tax withholdings, Konat took home $295,553.

Cash 5 is one of six lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying tickets at a retail location or with Online Play through the lottery’s website or the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Tuesday’s jackpot is $175,000.
