Lottery players in North Carolina can have fun Tuesday night trying their luck on a $473 million Mega Millions jackpot.
A winner tonight would have the choice of taking home the $473 million jackpot as an annuity or $221.8 million in cash.
While the jackpot grows, players are taking home other prizes playing Mega Millions. Friday’s Mega Millions drawing saw a lucky player in North Carolina match four white balls and the yellow Mega Ball to win $30,000. The winning ticket came from the Publix on Brawley School Road in Mooresville. Friday’s win makes it four of the last five Mega Millions drawings with at least a $20,000 win in North Carolina.
“It has been great seeing all the nice Mega Millions wins we have had recently in North Carolina,” said Mark Michalko, chief executive officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “We would love to see that lucky streak continue with more big wins tonight.”
Mega Millions players also benefit education in the state as the current jackpot run has raised over an estimated $8 million for education programs in North Carolina.
The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 290 million.
Players can buy Mega Millions tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.
