North Carolinians can have fun this weekend playing Mega Millions and Powerball as the two jackpots combine for over half a billion dollars.

A winner in tonight’s Mega Millions drawing would have the choice of taking home the $331 million jackpot as an annuity or $145.2 million in cash.

A winner in Saturday’s Powerball drawing would have the choice of taking home the $172 million jackpot as an annuity or $75.6 million in cash.

“It’s always exciting when both the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots are rolling at the same time,” said Mark Michalko, chief executive officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “It gives North Carolinians two chances to win life-changing prizes. Good luck this weekend.”

Even though both jackpots remain up for grabs, players are taking home other nice prizes. Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing saw a lucky North Carolinian match four white balls and the yellow Mega Ball to win $30,000. The winning ticket was purchased at the Publix on Albemarle Road in Charlotte.

The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 290 million. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

Players can buy Mega Millions or Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.
