Ray White of Statesville tried his luck on a $5 scratch-off and won a $200,000 top prize.

White bought his 5 Times Lucky ticket from Speedy Gas on Salisbury Road in Statesville.

He arrived at lottery headquarters Monday to claim his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $144,021.

The 5 Times Lucky game debuted in July 2025 with five $200,000 top prizes. One $200,000 prize remains to be claimed.
