The Powerball jackpot just keeps growing as Monday’s drawing offers a $748 million prize.
A winner in North Carolina could claim the jackpot as a $748 million annuity or $325.1 million in cash.
Even though the jackpot remains up for grabs, one North Carolina ticket in Saturday’s drawing won $50,000 after matching four white balls plus the Powerball. The lucky ticket came from the Circle K on N.C. 87 South in Cameron.
“We continue to see North Carolinians win great prizes playing Powerball and Saturday night was another example,” said Mark Michalko, chief executive officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “Good luck to everyone trying their luck on that life-changing prize tonight.”
The current Powerball run has earned an estimated nearly $14 million for education programs in North Carolina.
Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
