Thomas Broome of High Point took a chance on the $100,000 Cash Payday scratch-off game and won a $100,000 top prize.

Broome bought his lucky $30 ticket from the Harris Teeter on Morrison Boulevard in Charlotte.

He came to the lottery headquarters on Friday to claim his prize. After state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $72,018.

The $100,000 Cash Payday game debuted in March with 80 $100,000 top prizes. Fifty-five $100,000 top prizes remain to be claimed.
