Store at 421&210 johnson store posted they only pay put 80. DOllars all stores should let you know .Before you buy limits a store will pay out should be clearly posted.

I wouldn't play a draw ticket from a store that already had a big winner. My bet it is rare if any store has sold more than one big winning draw ticket. Maybe I'm wrong but the odds are against it. I buy 99% of my scratch offs from Magnolia greens BP in Leland. I'm probably close to have broken even I believe. I'd love to have a big winner. Just think all the good you could do with it.

I also agree and was told by an employee of nc ed-lottery that yes the SCRATCH offs the big wins are in Certain stores and mostly targeted to more wealthy areas in hopes to keep the rich rich and the poor poor..idk i really havent seen poor neighborhoods or the ones that dont make as much money win big!! You always see the rich,elderly,or people in bunches strike it rich..once in a while you see a poor sole who got lucky passing thru a wealthy town or off hiway and play and win..so go to the more wealthy neighborhoods and those small but wealthy counties and play..out in the country or some off hiway gas stations..chances are better i play different places so they cant keep track and different places Food lions are good places to play too gotta know which ones though..Good Luck..Oh and the stores where you see alot of postings where ppl win are good too..Yeah Im catchin on to the lottery

Va is a Good state to play in..chances are waay better than nc...Everything is predetermined in NC before they even show the numbers which is why there is a cut off time and why certain numbers get locked such as 333 because if it comes out it is too much to pay and when its locked they wont let it come out anyway..i play to win some of my money back..but of course you always put out more. chances are better if they pick numbers from a shoe box..u will see alot of winners...jus sayin..everything is SET..i still enjoy playing but i plaay more in VA..and WINN!! until i see different in nc i start only spending mayb 5 bucks a week now..not worth it anymore but Congrats to all that have struck it BIG in NC

@ NA'NA - Players in Greenville, Goldsboro, Charlotte, or the smallest town in the state all have the exact same chance of winning. Just because you see that a winner has come from one place does not mean that person had a better chance of winning, they just had good luck! As to your question about Quick Pick vs. choosing your own #'s - exact same chance of winning either way. But, more players quick pick, so we see more players win that way. Again, not because it improves the odds; its just because more folks play that way. Good luck!

No luck! as yet. have spent a lot of money already! tell me what makes greenville a bigger winner than goldsboro. from what i've observed bigger towns does matter. I can see why also. My thing is and please tell me if it matter if you computer pick or choose your own numbers. and are the most winning number computer picked.

there is 2 stores i go to in clinton nc i go to bp on sunset blvd and sunoco on sunset blvd.i have already hit the pick 4 twice on feb 8th and feb 11th for a total of 400.00 and i always win something on scratch offs at sunoco

@ OBXCLIFF - there were 34 active retailers in Dare County from 7/1/10-6/30/11, actually - the number 39 in our response to you was not correct (sorry about that!). Even though approximately .37% of North Carolinians and .46% of NCEL retailers (39) are in Dare, folks have still won more than $9.2 million in prizes, and Dare County education has received more than $5.7 million in lottery funds. Nine instant wins of $5,000 or more, including two $100,000 wins, have gone to Dare County players - including wins of $5,000 and $10,000 this year. Three Powerball wins of $10,000 to $30,000 have gone to Dare players.

Any Pick 3 or Pick 4 game, if its run fairly like North Carolina's is, offers you the same chances of winning no matter where you play - one in 1000 of getting Pick 3 exactly right, and one in 10000 of getting Pick 4 exactly right. Testing machines has no impact over what numbers will be the winning numbers for the live random draw.

We've had four $100,000 wins and a $1 million win go to other Orange County residents on instant games. We've had five Cash 5 jackpot winners from Hillsborough, two last year, for $50,000 and $411,827. Two Powerball players from Hillsborough have won big; a $400,000 prize in 2008 and $10,000 last year.

Since we're naming counties where winners come from I never see Dare County mentioned. Big scratch-off winners just don't seem to come from anywhere near here. They may list the VERY rare $1,000 winner, but from my experience and others I talk to if you get a $100 scratch-off winner it's cause to really celebrate!

I mainly play Pick 3 and NC is the hardest state as far as consistency. They have too many predraw and post draws then any other states. Alot of players have definitely stop playing here in NC and just got to VA/SC statelines and play there. Other states are much easier and more consist with the numbers. Also, other states post their predraw and post draw list right on their website. :-(

well I get mine any where they sell tickets at. Most of the time when I'm out of town. Don't like buying them here in my home town,but I do. I get a cash5 every day,3 to 4 scratch offs everytime i Buy them. the most i have won is 100.00 on a scratch off,the most on cash5,i have won with 4 numbers correct 2 times,been a long time now since i have won that big on any of them. The old saying is,you can't win if you don't play !!!

The F&J Store in Swannanoa, NC is my pick. Last month they had a $200,000 Powerball winner and within a week or two a lady found a penny outside, walked in and scratched off a Cash Bonanza for $150,000... It was somewhat painful because I bought the card before hers... Just to think I was that close keeps me optimistic about a big win one day....

@ SLADE - The answer to your question is in your question - the odds are the same for everyone, but about 25% of North Carolinians live in Guilford, Mecklenburg and Wake Counties... so wouldn't you expect to see a large number of winners in those places? Read other comments here in the Lucke-Zone, some people swear that the big cities never win and its only small towns. We hear it all! :-)

Lucke zone should do a poll on which games are favorites,and why. I don't like scratch tickets that have pictures to win. I like numbers, and I like 2$ and 1$ tickets because I can spend only 5 bucks and get a bunch to scratch. I like cash 5 the best of the numbers game because there's a chance to win a lot with only 39 numbers to choose from.

Lucky store? They pick and choose what stores they send the winning Tickets (Scratch offs) that is. the only chance you really have is the pick 3 or 4 but then the block out sum#. you lucky store is only a mistake away from a win.

The pattern for winners is simple 1 gas stations 2 grocery stores 3 tobacco outlets if you look at the pattern you have a chance at winning. Its the same every time plus the winners are in bunches look into the dates and prizes won its amazing how one day 1 winner and another 15 of $1000 plus the time of the month or around a holiday.
