"Wheel" have a winner!

The first player to win a trip to Hollywood in the Wheel of Fortune second-chance drawing is Joshua Huffman of Morganton in Burke County. Huffman said he entered 25 tickets into the Sept. 21 drawing.

“It was exciting to get that phone call,” Huffman said. “I was very stunned. I never thought it would be me.”

Huffman, who works in production at a local ink and coating company, will receive roundtrip airfare for himself and up to three guests to Los Angeles and five days/four nights deluxe hotel accommodations. He also gets $1,000 spending money and one spin on the Wheel of Fortune to win a guaranteed cash prize from $300 up to $10,000. Huffman plans to take his mother, his girlfriend and her mother as his guests.

“Someone had to win it,” Huffman added. “It might as well be me.”

The next drawing entry deadline is 11:59 P.M. on Oct. 19th. The drawing will occur on Wednesday, Oct. 26th.

@ ZONEBOY1964 - Well, you've said there's no way anyone will ever convince you otherwise, but here goes nothing: What possible benefit to the state lottery would it be to risk the entire organization's existence just so two different people from the small town of Franklin could win prizes worth a few thousand dollars? The lottery conducts drawings according to careful security procedures, under the supervision of auditors. Thousands of entries for Lucke-Rewards and second-chance drawings are received, and all of those entries have a chance to win, no matter what city the player lives in.

Just read the complete list of winners for the Spring-Tech drawing. Noticed there was 2 winners from Franklin and I suppose the NCEL will claim it was a coincidence but I have my doubts. This is a coincidence just like that woman from Asheboro who won the top prize in The Price is Right Game a couple or so years ago and her last name just happened to be P-R-I-C-E. There's no way that anyone will ever convince me that was on the level.

@ NICKNLARA - it's a little bit complicated, so thanks for asking so we can explain for everyone's benefit: Wheel of Fortune 2nd chance entries are valid only for the drawing they're entered in, and the "bonus round" drawing that happens after all three 2nd chance drawings are complete. So to clarify, a ticket entered into the first 2nd chance drawing is not valid for the second or third drawings. But all the entries for all three 2nd chance drawings will be pooled together for the "bonus round" drawing. Does that make sense?

With all due respect, Macmillion, one scratch-off winner from one small place doesn't prove that that's the only place big-winning tickets are sold, or that only certain demographic segments win the lottery. Packs of tickets are distributed to retailers based on ticket sales and re-orders, there's no way of telling where winning tickets will show up, and the tickets themselves have no idea who's buying them.
