It has been quite a week for winners! Here's a quick rundown of the past few days.

Forsyth County couple to give to charity after $1 million win
Todd and Penny Beck, a salesman for Vulcan Materials and a marketing coordinator from Kernersville in Forsyth County, plan to pay bills and give to charities with the $1 million prize they won playing the N.C. Education Lottery’s Carolina Gold game.

Retired Army sergeant wins $100,000 instant prize
Steven Williams of Clinton, a retired Army sergeant, says the lucky instant ticket he picked up Tuesday at a convenience store in Broadway was just waiting for him.

Wilmington man hunts down $100,000 scratch-off prize
Ehren Siefers of Wilmington likes to purchase tickets in lottery games that have lots of top prizes remaining, which recently led him to a $100,000 instant win. Two weeks ago, he checked the N.C. Education Lottery website and saw that the Mega Bucks game had 10 $100,000 prizes left to be claimed, so he began a quest to purchase one of the elusive lucky tickets.

Aunt and nephew share $200,000 Powerball win

About a year ago, Constance Stiles of Franklin in Macon County started occasionally playing the lottery with her nephew, Donnie Stiles of Robbinsville. They played for fun just whenever the mood hit either one of them, agreeing to share the prize if one of them got lucky.

Game Report

Players in tonight’s Mega Millions drawing have a chance to win an estimated $22 million prize if taken as an annuity or $16 million if the lump sum option is chosen. In Tuesday’s drawing, 9,837 tickets won prizes of $2 to $600 for a total payout of $69,007. The Friday, Nov. 4 drawing paid out $61,145 to 8,624 winning tickets.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $35 million if taken as an annuity or $21.7 million if taken as a lump sum. In Wednesday’s drawing, 26,004 tickets sold in North Carolina won a total of $162,753. The Saturday, Nov. 5 drawing paid out $207,546 to 26,694 winning tickets across the state.

Since Thursday, Nov. 3, players have collected more than $10.9 million in instant scratch-off ticket prizes. Carolina Pick 3 players have won more than $1.9 million. Carolina Pick 4 players have won more than $796,000 including 58 top prizes of $5,000. Carolina Cash 5 players have won more than $276,000.

That's it for now! Have a great weekend everybody!

i play the same numbers and would like to play them longer than 7 draws so if you could make it so we can play for longer that be great and appreciated

12/11/2011 12:50 - christopher h.

i have never won anything big. If i did i would open a center to help children with diabetes. Good luck everybody!

@ BAYT777 - One column shows how many tickets won prizes on $1 tickets, the other column shows how many PowerPlay tickets won prizes... does that clear it up? If you still have questions, give our player hotline a call at 877-962-7529

11/26/2011 08:33 - Thorne B.

Thanks for the reply: I was referring to second/fourth columns i.e. 100 people purchase PB tickets, 50 choose Power Play option, all win, then 100 won playing PB not just 50/50? Correct?

11/22/2011 11:33 - NC Lottery

@ BAYT777 - "Win Type" is the first column.. coluns two and three show you how many and how much players won on Powerball tickets that were not Power Played. The fourth and fifth columns show you how much players won on Power Play tickets for the drawing.

11/21/2011 04:09 - Ryan K.

@RAILROAD123 - Not sure what you're referring to, but the big winners listed above were spread out all over the state.

11/20/2011 08:54 - Linda R.

I agree with Abbey1909, I too purchased 10 Candy Cane and got $8.00. I purchased 10 more from a different store and got $3.00 for my efforts. Poor odds, spent $60.00 and got $11.00.

8 $100,000 winners on todays news and all from the eastern part of the state...whats up wit dat???

11/19/2011 10:45 - Barbara K.

Asheville has had a lot of winners,Don't forget the gentleman that won the 100 +- million powerball about a year ago.Was going to take his wife to Hawaii and play golf. The first Mega Million was from the Western part of the state.I actually think there has been more winners in the western part of the state than anywhere in the state.I am pround to say we here in Franklin County have had 9 winners in the last year exclusing the winners that were so small that they couldn't keep up with them

11/18/2011 06:10 - Thorne B.

Prize Distribution Tables:A winner in the second column is a winner in the first column also,so are the total numbers correct? This is for PB/MM tables.

11/18/2011 10:29 - NC Lottery

@ RAILROAD123 - The odds of winning are the same wherever you live, those odds just play out over and over again at a faster rate in places where more people live and play. What county do you live in? We can share some local info with you :-)

11/17/2011 09:55 - ron k.

HOW ABOUT MORE BIG WINNERS IN THE WESTERN PART OF THE STATE.WE HAVE HAD ONLY 2 MILLION DOLLAR WINNERS AND 1 OF THEM BOUGHT THEIR TICKET IN RALEIGH AND BROUGHT IT HOME TO ASHEVILLE BEFORE SCRATCHING IT.LOOK AT THE WINNING NEWS AND WHERE THE WINNERS COME FROM IF THIS IS NOT TRUE...

11/17/2011 09:30 - gale m.

its good to win and its a blessing

11/17/2011 08:05 - Roger K.

no wins at all this week,on my powerball ticket. no wins on mega million either.got three numbers right on cash5 two days ago.so i'm waiting around for the BIG one to come my way...hope soon!

11/15/2011 09:21 - NC Lottery

@Rod8145 - Through June 30 of this year, Surry County players won more than $14.1 million in prizes. The biggest instant winner in Surry County history is a State Road man who won $100,000 playing Mustang Fever. Shares of two Cash 5 jackpots have gone to Mount Airy players. We had a $100,000 raffle ticket winner from Mount Airy too. A pair of $200,000 Powerball wins have gone to Surry winners. Last year, a man from Pilot Mountain won $500,000 playing Mega Millions.

11/15/2011 08:43 - NC Lottery

@ DENVERG9 - Since new Powerball begins in January, Lucke-Zone members are probably the most informed group of people anywhere! Training and educating retailers about new games is an ongoing process... keep in mind lottery is just one of many things most stores sell. Information provided to store owners doesn't always make it all the way to the clerk who is ringing you up. But we're working on it! :-)

11/15/2011 07:50 - Roger K.

well, i did hit 3 numbers right on cash5 last night, just needed the other two to win jackpot.been real close on my numbers lately.just not all in a row.will be soon i hope, need to pay off bills and have some for Christmas, plus to have a good vacation next summer...

11/15/2011 06:22 - Sean L.

I just want say I thank God for blessing each one of you.And for everyone else don't give up I pray that God blesses each one of you too.Good Luck and don't lose your faith!

11/14/2011 02:58 - Roderick L.

How many Big winners are there in Surry County?

11/14/2011 01:35 - Denver G.

Why are all the places in lincoln county that sell tickets acting like they know nothing about the changes coming to powerball 06/15/12 ? Are they really that uninformed ? Or were they just told to play dumb ?

11/14/2011 12:12 - odessa j.

thanks, well maybe i will hit big one day. there is always a chance.

11/14/2011 09:58 - NC Lottery

@ ODESSA - Onslow County and Jacksonville have had lots of winners, you might have missed the news or the story might not have been covered. But if you go to the Jacksonville Daily News website and search for lottery you'll see lots of stories.

11/14/2011 09:57 - NC Lottery

@ DWMNY74 - There's no way to know who will get a winning ticket, someone who's played before or someone who's playing for the first time. That's the way all games of chance work. We wish you luck

11/14/2011 09:56 - NC Lottery

@ ABBEY1909 - It's all just a matter of luck. The odds of winning are for the entire printing run of the game, not for a particular roll of tickets.

11/14/2011 09:52 - NC Lottery

@ NANA7 - What you're talking about is called the liabilitiy limit. The way it works in North Carolina is similar to how it works in other states. We are responsible for stopping ticket sales on particluar numbers when a certain number of them have been sold to ensure that we can pay out the prizes that are won. All you have to do is get your ticket in advance and you won't have a problem :-)

11/14/2011 09:47 - NC Lottery

@ JAMES23 - Well, people in other states have the same chance of winning Powerball or Mega Millions too. But North Carolina has had five major jackpot winners in five years - never know when we'll have another one!

11/14/2011 08:23 - odessa j.

i have not heard of anyone winning anything big in jacksonville.

11/14/2011 01:30 - Roderick L B.

PLEASE KEEP EVERYONE POSTED ON THE CAROLINA GOLD 2ND CHANCE DRAWING BECAUSE I AM JUST GUT-TICKELED RIGHT NOW,PLEASE!!!

11/13/2011 10:56 - dennis m.

carolina gold has not been treating us loyal players right,i feel like i can not even hit $10. the card cost, untill i have spent $100. the top prizes need to be broken down into smaller prizes on more instant cards for distrbution to the loyal players. it is not right for somebody that never plays to take a random chance and end up hitting the jack-pot,the one and only top prize remaining in the whole state of north carolina.how much fun is it knowing you set somebody like that up for the jack-pot? dennis w. mooney jr. in lenoir, N.C.

11/13/2011 07:19 - Carmen A.

I just tried the new Candy Cane Crossword scratch off, and just as the previous crossword scratch offs, it is newly impossible to get at least three words. Just today I purchaced 6 at the same store, two at a time and no one purchasing in between but still, not a winner. My odds of winning is 1:399. Am I just unlucky or are there more no pay tickets than winners?

11/13/2011 06:59 - james h.

please shoot out those quad ones in the pick 4 i need some christmas money. thanks cale hill

11/13/2011 04:49 - Judie B.

Have'nt really win anything big. Hopefully one day I will be a big winner.

11/12/2011 07:00 - Bennie P.

I too, will win a major jackpot someday. Quietly, of course.

11/12/2011 05:26 - Roger K.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $35 million if taken as an annuity or $21.7 million if taken as a lump sum. "I HAVE MY GROUPS LOTTERY TICKETS FOR TONIGHT'S DRAWING,I HOPE WE WILL BE THE FIRST LOTTERY WINNER FROM RICHMOND CO.....WE EACH WOULD GET 2.17 MILLION EACH BEFORE TAXES.THAT'S ENOUGH FOR ME TO LIVE WELL THE REST OF MY LIFE...I HOPE WE HAVE GOOD LUCK.."

11/12/2011 03:39 - paul b.

my turn

11/12/2011 11:16 - Ginger W.

be nice to see some winners in Caldwell Co and the western part of the state.

11/12/2011 07:22 - Wilmet A.

I'm gonna be the next cash 5 winner. Congrats to all the winners that have already won.

11/11/2011 05:23 - Ruby T.

Hey Guys, I tried to play quad 1's at three places today and lottery would not accept. What's up with that? Are they limiting the number of potential winners--is that right?

11/11/2011 09:16 - thomas d.

Still looking for my big winner!

11/11/2011 03:09 - stafford b.

slow wins in my area

11/11/2011 12:20 - Anthony S.

share your bless blessings

11/10/2011 11:05 - James S.

its always someone in another state who wins the big prizes. What's up with that?

11/10/2011 07:36 - Johnson R.

I am happy for everyone that won and that you are giving some of you winning away. That the only to win is by giving.
