Carolina Pick 4 adds afternoon drawing

Carolina Pick 4 players have been asking for an afternoon drawing for a long time. On Sunday, the NCEL did just that and added a daily afternoon drawing for Carolina Pick 4 and an afternoon drawing on Sunday for Carolina Pick 3. Players are now able to play both games twice a day, seven days a week. Now with more options to play, there are more chances to win.

The Pick 4 afternoon drawing occurs at 3 p.m., just like the Pick 3 drawing. Both drawings were added to our Sunday drawing lineup. Pick 3 and Pick 4 players can still enjoy the nightly drawings for both games, which are held at 11:22 p.m.

Like Pick 3, the afternoon Pick 4 drawing will not be broadcast, but you can see it daily on the NCEL website as well as our Facebook and YouTube pages. You’ll still be able to get the winning numbers on the website or by calling the Player Hotline (877-962-7529). Also, don’t forget that you can have your numbers checked automatically by entering them on the “Lucke-Numbers” tab in the Lucke-Zone website.

@ Sandon - Also, there is a place for Lucke-Zone members to make suggestions, under the "Support" option at the top-right of the screen. If you click "Contact Us" you can choose "Suggestion" from the pull-down menu and it will go to the right people. Thanks again.

@ Sandon - Thanks for your suggestions, we will pass them along.

how about updating all the scratch off prizes on all amounts at least once ever 2 weeks or so or once a week people play to win top and second and maybe third place prizes after they we stop playing that ticket. and how about making the cash 5 a bigger lotto starting a i million and only play on monday and thursday that be muuch better. i enjoy playing these are some suggestions and also having a place on the luckezone to make suggestion would be helpful.

@Ricky - there's no way of knowing when or where a winning ticket will show up. Just on instant games, Kinston players have won $200,000 on $200,000 Jackpot, and $100,000 on Monopoly... plus lots of winners between $5,000 and $35,000. We've had five Cash 5 winners from Kinston who've won between $25,000 and $189,937 each. Plus seven Powerball winners of $10,000 to $50,000 just to name a few. Through last June, $33.6 million in prizes had been paid out to winners is Lenoir County.

Kinston has not had a Big Winner, Why?

@ coybacon - no plans for KENO right now. there are lots of possibilities for new games in the future though.

will the lottery ever put out KENO. When I'm in the DC area.I have been pretty lucky playing that game.

@marcus Your concern for social causes like homelessness is admirable. As a state agency, we aren't in a position to make decisions about where lottery funds go. Our duty is to provide fair games to players for a chance to win, and to generate funds that support specific education programs in all 100 counties in the state. You can click here to see county-by-county how much money has gone to programs in the state: http://bit.ly/eqa9w1 (note that those numbers are through June 30, 2010 - the actual figures are even higher today)

3/12/2011 06:11 - MARCUS B.

If N.C. has made so much money awarded from the lottery then where is it going. I would love to see the N.C. Lottery do more for the community. I play faithfully and I am tired of seeing so much homelessness, why dont you set up a foundation to get people off the street when there is so much unclaimed money. I wouldn't mind u using the money to help people to find themselves.

@hubby - The chances of winning are the same everywhere, nobody knows where a winning ticket is going to show up. There are more people living in big cities than small towns, and if more people are playing then there are more instances happening where someone has a chance to win. But you'd be surprised to know that people who live in big cities post comments here and on our Facebook page asking why is it that only people in small towns win. It's all just a matter of luck

3/07/2011 03:45 - NC Lottery

@hubby - One of the four Cash 5 tickets that split the top prize in the Dec. 20 drawing was sold at the Kangaroo Express on Hope Mills Rd. in Fayetteville - that winner won $129,902. Also on Dec. 20, we had a $5,000 instant winner on $200 Million Extravaganza from Hope Mills. Last Thursday, March 3, we had a $1,000 instant winner from Hope Mills. Last March 4, 2010, one of the three top prize-winning Cash 5 tickets was sold at the Short Stop on Legion Road in Hope Mills. That ticket was worth $390,868

3/07/2011 02:57 - Lenora T.

When I look at all the winners in North Carolina, I never see Hope Mills as winners. We do play in Hope Mills but never any winners for this area. Why is that, but Raleigh, Durham and Charlotte are always winners.

I'm ready to win again! Be positive and play your numbers. They will come up! I do have a system that really works, I wish I could sell it.

@ Icelene - Winning any lottery game is a matter of luck and we ONLY want you to play if you are enjoying yourself. Our job is to provide fair games to players like you but there is no guarantee of winning. So we hope you'll make the decision that is best for you when it comes to playing the games we offer.

3/03/2011 09:57 - NC Lottery

@ Tom - there aren't plans to add a daytime Cash 5 drawing right now; the way the game works with rolling top prizes, a once-a-day format seems to work best. @ Al - again, the way Cash 5 is set up, is that the prizes for 2, 3 and 4 numbers depends on how many people are playing the game in the same way the top prize for Cash 5 depends on how many folks are playing. That's how the top prizes get bigger and bigger instead of fixed like with Pick 3 and Pick 4.

Yes we do need a little lotto; also I wish the payout on cash 5 was a set amount for 2,3 and 4 numbers.

3/02/2011 02:07 - Isalene J.
