@ VEGOUT - We get this question often. Here's the deal: the top level winners have to be notified so they can complete the claim process. It is not always possible to get them on the phone right away. If they can't be reached by phone, we go to certified mail. Then the winner(s) have to come to regional claim center to complete the process. Then and only then can we release all the winner names, because if a top level winner can't be reached, everyone else gets "bumped up" the list, and could receive a larger prize. Our procedures are audited and evaluated on a regular basis to ensure that all drawings and games are conducted fairly. We know that people want to know the results of drawings right away, but we have an obligation to do everything according to these procedures and can't let speed get in the way of that.

I don't get why it takes so long to post the lucke-drawing winners. Pick the winners and post it. makes it all sound a little fishy. what exactly is the claim process that has to be done ? just doesn't make sense. pick em and post em. someone told me that they have to come up with a list of fake names and that no prizes are actually given away. I don't believe that, why would they waste time and money to hold fraudulant drawings to give away beach towels and t'shirts !!

@ MARCUS - All of the top prize winners have been notified, but they have to complete the claim process before all the winners can be announced. That is likely to happen, at the earliest, in the middle of the week next week. We attempt to reach top prize winners by telephone first.

Let's try this one more time. If you Anniversary Cash tickets for the 2 drawing are they able to be re-entered in the 3rd drawing in June? If I don't get an answer this third try I will just try and enter them and find out that way. I thank you anyway as this is the second question NC Ed Lottery could not or would not answer for me. I was supposed to be called back on the first question by someone that researched the answer. Didn't happen even though I was promised next day by 5PM.

I have many entries, but really am trying to stay positive, but the back of my mind knows its still 1 in how many ever millions of a chance that mine is drawn. I have spend nearly 3-4 hundred dollars on these ticks and have won only about 75.00 starting to think there aren't many winning ticks.

@Trey - Different NCEL employees call winners, so there's no single phone number to look out for. Rest assured that a voicemail will be left should the winner not answer the call, and that many attempts will be made to contact the winners.

@DENISE - as you know, the drawing has already happened. The winners will be posted AFTER we are able to contact the grand prize winner. The results from the drawing have been certified, but it will be days at the earliest until the results are posted. We have to contact the winner and have them come into a claims center to formalize their win. As soon as we can, we'll post the winners.

@ SANDON - As with all second chance drawings, there's a lot of formal verification and certification that must be done after the drawing occurs. Then the process begins to notify the grand prize winner: first by email, and then, if neccessary, by phone and possibly certified mail. Long story short, we don't know when the winners will be posted. Hopefully early next week.

I have played the NCEL since it began, I am glad they are here, but "geesh" it's hard to win the Pic 3,4,5 and scratch off's. I like the scratch tickets and still can't understand if I have bought 10 $10 tickets and only get get back maybe $20. You should have more second chances with the $5 tickets as well.

I have been keep trace on areas that win big. It's always someone winning big in a area that people have money. My area that i live in no one never wins anyhting at all. I live in the area of Sugar Creek and North Tryon and i check the area all the time and i ask the retailer has anyone won anything big all the say is just five dollar, ten , one hundred dollars. Isn't it amazing. I seem to have better luck with the $1 Lucky Number ticket and the $200,000 $5 tickets. I would really like to hit the big one! It seems that there are more winners west of I-40, than in our area. Maybe soon, uh!

I've never won anything big before or ever own a motorcycle. I'm 49 years old and always wanted to own a motorcycle. Everytime I would be in position to buy a motorcycle emergencies came up to where I had to use my money else where. Omning a motorcycle has been a life long dream.

@davyrt - players have every right to keep posession of their non-winning tickets for themselves to enter into drawings. If a player willingly gives up posession of their non-winning tickets, anyone else would be within their right to enter them into a drawing. A final note, the lottery provides tickets to retailers, but our control over their store policies are limited. Players can choose to buy tickets from whichever retailer they feel most comfortable buying them from.
