The Prize Patrol is in Knightdale and Wilson today, officially starting the NCEL’s 5th anniversary celebration. These weekly promotions will be conducted every Friday at retailers across the state. At the promotions, players can participate for the chance to win NCEL-branded merchandise, NCEL 200 truck race tickets and up to $500 in cash prizes per location. Prize Patrol promotions will occur for eight straight weeks starting today, March 18.

From noon to 2 p.m. today, the Prize Patrol is on-site at Eagles Express in Knightdale. Just after the kick off at noon, Raleigh resident Susan Jenkins said "I'm glad you guys are doing this. I just won twenty bucks!" And there’s more: according to Annie Lomison who works at Eagle Express, one player already won $1,000 at the store on a “$500,000 Anniversary Cash” ticket this afternoon.

Later today, the Prize Patrol will be at the Rose Mart in Wilson from 5 to 7pm.

To find a retail location that is celebrating near you, see the retail locations and schedule here.

If you’re in the Knightdale or Wilson areas, come on out and help us celebrate.

well drawing results out for 5th anniv. ticket had over 80 entries and still won nothing. think ill stop buying tickets and save my money. wont win any extra money but at least wont loose all that money

although scratch offs are randon, it seems odd that one store will have numerous large prize winners where as the next store has never had any large winners, maybe that store is just lucky to get all yhe big winners. best thing to do is donate your monet directly to the school of you chioce and that way they will get all the money and not just a little bit for education, and even more to the government to spend as they need, good luck to all

@ DAVYRT - actually, there's no telling how much in prizes there could be on a roll of tickets. Winning tickets are distributed randomly throughout the entire printing run for every game. Every one who plays has the same chance of winning.

@ SHY - lottery games are meant to be a form of entertainment, where you have a chance to win. There's no guarantee of it. The odds of winning are printed on the games. So, number one, please only play with your entertainment dollars. And secondly, check out the details of the games on our website before you choose which ones to play.

The scratchers have the worst odds in all gambling. They really are for the desperate. The pay offs are less than one in 12 or 15 for a WIN.(more than you original bet) The even money ones are only like 1 in 5 or 6.The lottery officials will tell you that each packet has less than $40 in prizes.

Where is the LOVE??? I have spent entirely too much in the lottery this last few days I am embarrassed at myself! I know that the lottery is a game of chance but when you go into a store that sells lootery tickets and purchase six $5 scratch offs at once and to not win on a single one??? thats just not right it's almost depressing but again I do realize that these are chance games but c'mon $30 in tickets that I cant even enter into a second chance drawing because one is not available, now the $$$$ that I mentioned earlier it wasnt in regards to the tickets that was for p3, p4, c5,pb etc and those are truly random and I take the loss of those funds like a champ but again there should be better odds with the instant games!!! Im just saying!!!!

@ SANDON - don't understand your first question about how many online entries for one player in what county. If you entered your tickets into the most recent drawing and it says entry accepted, then you should be good to go. As for the Prize Patrol, we'd love to go everywhere, but it's just not possible for us to visit close to where everyone lives. If you visit this link, you can see all the places that the Prize Patrol is going to be: http://www.nc-educationlottery.org/news_events.aspx

@ LAADI - There is no lottery game that guarantees you a prize that is the same value as the cost of the ticket. When you buy a game, you are playing for a chance to win. There's no guarantee of winning. If you decide to play again, we wish you luck.

i enterd the latest drawing but everytime i go back i click again and it says entery accepted so has my entry been accepted or not. and how about bringing the prize patrol to oxford or henderson nc area. and where is it gonna be next.

I bought a $500,000 card last week and didn't get one dollar on the card. I think you should at least win what you paid for the card.

@ SPUD - multiple people can agree to claim a prize jointly. But you'd need some paperwork/affadavits filled out and some other ID-related issues handled up front. If you ever find yourself lucky enough to be in that situation, just call us and we can tell you everything you need to know.

3/25/2011 12:39 - Emmett A.

We love playing mega- millions at work. Can we share part of the prize we win with friends? Say if we win big can we give each friend 2% of our winnings? Do they all have to go to Raleigh to claim their part of the prize? Just planning ahead!

@ PCBEAN - The notificaton/validation process is still underway for the motorcycle prize. Once that's complete, we can post all the winners.

3/22/2011 02:17 - Nadine B.

What happened to posting the winners from teh amrch 16th drawing for prizes?

Where does the time go? Hard to believe it's been five years, but I've had a lot of fun and that's what counts.

3/21/2011 04:10 - NOREEN W.

I AM VERY EXCITED LOOKING FORWARD FOR THE BIG SUPRICE

3/21/2011 02:50 - michael c.

I was having a hard time finding a 5 year anniversary scratch off game card. Finally found one today march 21st in the Raleigh Gorman Street area. Most of the Raleigh vendors (gas stations) I visited last week and this weekend did not have any. Hope the supply will continue to be mailed out on a regular basis?

Hey, Ishtaria, if you think the mountains get left out, try living on the Outer Banks for a while!

3/21/2011 10:31 - Audrey B.

I am excited!

3/21/2011 10:20 - Karen C.

Wish you all would come to the Rocky Mount Area. I have joined and I have enjoyed looking at the site. Please consider coming to our area we have alot of supportive fans here in Rocky Mount. Look forward to the ideas you guys come up with.

3/21/2011 10:12 - NC Lottery

@Jayfish - Hey, congrats! Glad you enjoyed it. @Ishtaria - It is not that we don't care about y'all in the mountains, it is not that at all. We appreciate our players EVERYWHERE in North Carolina. While the lottery does not operate on a single dime of taxpayer funds, we are mindful of keeping our budget expenditures as small as possible so that we can pay out the most in prizes to players like you and raise the most money for education - which are our two top priorities.

3/20/2011 09:25 - Vickie N.

Sounds like fun--too bad you're not coming any further than the foothills area (Marion). Just like every other aspect of NC government, the mountains get left out.

3/20/2011 03:15 - Aaron P.

3/20/2011 08:38 - annette a.

wish they come to my hometown love to win a prize never won love to win

3/19/2011 08:31 - David T.

If you scratch a star on the fast $50 on the $500,000 anniversary cash the ticket will lose so go straight to the second chance drawing!

3/19/2011 05:02 - annette m.

It was a fun day. I realy enjoyed myself. It would be nice to have some food vendors at these events because you have to be present to win prizes and people get hungry waiting expecially if you live out of town.

3/19/2011 10:42 - william c.

Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of something special.
