We’ve teamed up with Charlotte Motor Speedway and WRFX radio in Charlotte to give fans the chance to win amazing prizes: you could win race tickets, meet Ric Flair, and compete for the opportunity to serve as Grand Marshal or Honorary Starter for the NCEL 200 Camping World Truck Series Race.

Every day through May 13th, WRFX will make on-air announcements inviting listeners to call in to qualify as the Grand Marshal or Honorary Starter for the NCEL 200. Everyone who qualifies will win a pair of tickets to the NCEL 200, Sprint Cup Series All-Star race, Nationwide Series and - yes - the Coca Cola 600! For a chance to win, tune into 99.7 FM in Charlotte, or players outside of Charlotte can listen online.

Lots of lucky winners will get tickets and qualify on the air. But you still have more chances to win: by coming to the live radio remote at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, May 20. Things kick-off at 2 p.m., so make sure to be there. Whether you win on the air or in person, you have to come to the live remote that Friday to get your tickets and compete. What’s this competition? “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair will help choose two Super Fans of the Day (be ready to show your enthusiasm).

One Super Fan will be named the Honorary Starter for the NCEL 200 and wave the green flag to get the action underway. As Grand Marshal, the other Super Fan will announce the most famous words in racing, “Drivers, start your engines!” Watch last year's competition and see who won the opportunity of a lifetime last year. After the contest, Ric Flair will be at our booth to sign autographs from 4 to 5 p.m..

And the ways to win don’t stop there. If you don't already, follow us on Twitter. In the week leading up to the race, we'll be tweeting @ our followers with info about how you can win a pair of tickets to the races and a chance to be chosen by Ric Flair as Super Fan of the Day. Good luck!

@ FASTBALLRAL - ticket sale revenues and taxpayer dollars are not the same thing, but we take our responsibility very seriously just the same. Lottery funds do benefit education across the entire state. To be specific about where the legislature (not the lottery) decided to use a small portion of unclaimed prize money, it was to help offset the medicaid shortfall in the budget and is the first and only time that lottery proceeds to the state have been used for anything other than education. Thanks for the opportunity to respond to your comments.

How can you say you do not spend taxpayers dollars--The people of North Carolina purchase the tickets with their money and it supposed to go to our childrens education and yet today I read where our elected officials have taken 35 million from that education fund to blow somewhere else last year and the current bunch is looking to get some more. Really should change the name of this lottery to the Political Folks Slush Fund.

@ JACK - we will forward your suggestion

@ FASTBALLRAL - the lottery doesn't spend any taxpayer dollars, and only spends about 5% of revenues on operations including advertising. After retailer commissions and prizes are paid out, everything else benefits education programs. We are proud to have provided more money to education every year. Lottery funds help but can't bridge the gap in the budget crisis. We advertise, at events like the NCEL 200, in order to support ticket sales which provides money for education.

I personnaly do not understand why the North Carolina EDUCATION Lottery is sponsoring a nascar race with the taxpayers dollars. The money is supposed to go our school systems which are already facing massive cuts due to the nitwits we have in Raleigh and now you want to give our money to redneck racing and nobody really cares about Nature Boy either, now there's a real role model.

Well I see that the poker game is still going on in some stores but not in others. I asked for a printout in the store of all the games left an the poker was not on it but yet it is still online and I called the lottery hotline to be told it is still going on but only one person to my knowledge has ever won the 50.00 bonus at the bottom when it came out at the beginning of the game but no one else, the second chance drawings online are even worse no matter how many you put in. It's as if it has something to do with geographic location. We don't stand a chance too often of winning really big money here in Hope Mills and there is plenty of gamblers here as well as any other place like the mountains, Raleigh, Charlotte etc...

@Danielle - A Cash 5 ticket worth $141,672 was sold in Brevard, as well as six scratch-off tickets worth between $5,000 and $25,000.

5/11/2011 11:37 - Danielle M.

has there ever been a winner from brevard nc? in any lotto?

5/11/2011 03:54 - Ryan K.

@Stephen - Listen online at http://www.wrfx.com/mediaplayer/and you'll have just as good a chance to win as anyone. Best of luck to everyone!

This is nice --BUT this a state run game & the only ones that can get in are ones in Charlotte or in ear shot of the radio station the rest on the state is out of luck . The lottery should have made available to all!!!!!!!!!!!! Something should done

@aaangelk - Franklinton has seen some big winners, especially in the Cash 5 game. Three residents have won prizes of $333,760, $182,431 and $129,902. One Franklinton resident won $600,000 playing Powerball, as well.

@Nicknlara - The final prize patrol outing is this Friday in two Charlotte locations. Going to be a great time, so if you're in the area we hope you can stop by!

5/11/2011 12:54 - Lara B. M.

will the prize patrol be coming to kernersville anytime soon? would have been great had they been there for last weeks spring folly. it was wonderful!

5/10/2011 09:01 - Patricia H.

There is an easier, green way to print PICK 3 and PICK 4 tickets. WAY too much time is wasted...so is paper. I have created "the pitch" to get the public to accept the change! By the way, the word "receiving" is spelled wrong on your website for LUCKE.

5/10/2011 03:56 - jerry s.

Personally, I wouldn`t walk across the street to see Ric Flair.

5/10/2011 01:00 - glenda k.

I had a pick 3 number 184 today May 9 and went to the main home page to check.......hooray there it was 184, also got it in my e-mail as 184.....sad to say I get to my favorite retailer to cash in and they said "this is not a winner" the number that won is 143...........wth!! I go back home look at the main site and there it is 184 big as day..........I click on the Pick 3 logo and it changes to 143.............what are you all doing in the Lottery House, howmany others picked this number and got embarrasssed and frustrated.........what good is the luckezone site e-mails and the NC Lottery homepage if the numbers aren't correct.......

5/08/2011 10:56 - joey e.

5/06/2011 03:54 - Bryan B.

HAS ANYONE FROM FRANKLINTON EVER WON ANYTHING?

5/06/2011 03:30 - NC Lottery

@ HUBBY - what game are you talking about? Once a game ends, it gets pulled.

5/06/2011 03:27 - Erma S.

Heck to the yessss ! Woooooooo!!!

5/06/2011 11:34 - Deborah A.

Well, I am now finished playing the lottery. I will now save my money and invest and sell stocks. Thanks for the memories.

5/05/2011 10:15 - Lenora T.

Why are there still five $100,000 pikers still out there. This game has been going on forever and no one is winning. Are there really five left or is this game discontinued and we did not get the memo. Some stores still sell them and a lot do not. Which is it? I see that it's still online. I don't think it is fair to make people continue to buy something that is not in circulation.

5/05/2011 04:58 - NC Lottery

Yeah @ BARBARA - there's no Price is Right 2nd chance drawing on the calendar right now.

5/05/2011 04:25 - barbara b.

5/05/2011 02:39 - edward w.

5/05/2011 08:55 - NC Lottery
