We love stories of good luck in North Carolina, but sometimes there are stories from other places that are too good to pass up. The story of journalist Lois Tomas, who lives in Georgia, is one of those stories.
Tomas works as senior staff writer for the Clay County Progress, the newspaper who reported on her story. Between taking care of her elderly mother and considering a move to be closer to her daughter, Tomas was feeling spread thin. But her purchase of a lottery ticket at a BP station in Young Harris, GA may make things a little easier. After 15 challenging years, and a particularly rough 12 months, her luck took a turn for the better: she won $100,000 instantly.
If you’ve read other Lucke-Zone blogs, you know that we encourage everyone to play responsibly. As you can see, it worked for Lois Tomas; after winning, she said that she did not play lottery games very often.
