The big lottery news nationwide is the Powerball jackpot that keeps getting bigger. No “perfect ticket” surfaced for Saturday’s drawing, pushing the jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing to an estimated $220 million. If a single ticket wins the jackpot on Wednesday, it would be the largest Powerball jackpot win since the April 6 drawing, when a pair of lucky players from Indiana split the $221.7 million prize.
Five lucky Powerball players who bought tickets in North Carolina matched four white balls and the Powerball to win $10,000 prizes in Saturday’s drawing. Those tickets were sold at: The Spirit Food Mart on Ward Boulevard in Wilson; the Petro Mart on 15-501 North in Chapel Hill; the Wilco on South Church Street in Hertford in Perquimans County; the Circle K on Sharon Road in Charlotte; and at the Harris Teeter on Oleander Drive in Wilmington.
In other jackpot news, someone won last night’s $369,616 Carolina Cash 5 jackpot. The lucky ticket was sold at B’s Tobacco Food Mart on North Main Street in Hope Mills in Cumberland County. If it turns out the winner lives in Hope Mills, it would mark the 25th Carolina Cash 5 jackpot win for a Cumberland County resident. It would also mark the largest Carolina Cash 5 jackpot prize awarded since a $776,214 jackpot was split between two winning tickets in the May 16 drawing.
Pick 4 players were lucky in last night’s drawing as well. More than 250 Pick 4 tickets won a total of $402,600 when the numbers 1-1-1-8 were drawn.

if a group wins a lottery can each player decide how they want the money or all have to take the same choice.
