Recent prize payouts prove that some of the most popular numbers among Pick 3 and Pick 4 players are triple and quadruple combinations of the same number. Pick 3 players won $2,362,750 when 2-2-2 came up in Friday night’s drawing. Then, Monday afternoon, quadruple 3’s led to $1,850,000 in prizes, the largest payout ever for a single Pick 4 drawing.
For Monday afternoon’s drawing, a man from Seagrove in Randolph County purchased two dozen tickets for the 3-3-3-3 combination to win $120,000. In the Pick 4 game, players who buy a $1 exact ticket with the winning number drawn win a $5,000 prize. In all, players had 240 tickets worth $5,000 for the drawing. An additional 260 tickets were worth $2,500 apiece because players bought $.50 tickets that had the winning number. Pick 3 players can win a top prize of $500 on a $1 exact ticket.
The new Pick 4 record narrowly eclipsed the one set on the evening of August 17, when 9-9-9-9 paid out $1,807,500 in prizes. It marks the third time in NCEL history a quadruple number has been drawn in the Pick 4 game, all of which have come in 2011. The winning combination for the March 16 afternoon drawing was 2-2-2-2, which paid players $645,000 in prizes.

I think there is some truth about lottery not releasing the higher winning tickets.... For instance, where are the $50,000, $5000 and $1000 winning tickets for the Red Hot Million game. I have been lucky with that ticket and buy it often. For me this ticket gives alot of smaller prizes but where are the larger prize? I check the outstanding prize reports and it shows that there are $50.000, $5000 and $1000 prizes out there yet I'm only seeing $500 and less winners. Is it a fact that these higher prizes exist??? Or like the other person commented that these tickets are in the ware-house and have not been released as yet. I buy these tickets all over Asheville yet i never get anything over $500
