Two tickets split $365,092 Cash 5 prize

The Pop Shoppe on Hickswood Road in High Point and the Express Mart on Weeksville Road in Elizabeth City each sold a Carolina Cash 5 ticket that split the $365,092 jackpot on Saturday night. Two lucky tickets beat odds of 1 in 575,757 to match all five numbers drawn: 2-4-6-11-23. A total of 124 tickets matched four out of five numbers to win $193 apiece. In all, Cash 5 players won $440,279 in the drawing.

The jackpot reset to $50,000 for Sunday’s drawing – but was not hit – rolling to $59,000 for Monday’s drawing.

One ticket from Friday’s Mega Millions drawing matched four white balls and the Mega Ball and is worth $10,000. The ticket was sold at the Wilco on Mebane Oaks Road in Mebane.

N.C. Education Lottery players with winning tickets for draw games have 180 days from the date of a drawing to collect prizes. Prizes of $100,000 or more must be claimed at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

@ PAINTER - Usually within 48 hours of a drawing, the lottery attempts to contact winners by e-mail. If e-mail contact is unsuccessful, the lottery attempts several phone calls. If those are unsuccessful the lottery sends certified mail. A winner's name will only be announced after successful contact AND the winner completes the claim process. This can take several days.

How are winners notified after the drawings have been completed. Do you call them or send an e-mail? How quickly is the initial contact made? I won in SC before on a 2nd chance scratch off drawing and they sent an e-mail. I suspect that is how it is handled. Just curious. Thank you.

@ PLAYER (RH) - The lottery in North Carolina is relatively young to many states that have a six-number lotto game. It's possible that, in the future, more game types will come to our state but there are not plans at this time.

The NCEL says the # of entries increase your chances, that is obvious. How many entries are lucky enough to win something mine vary from 3 to 25... Is that not enough? Been playing the NC lottery since day 1 still waiting to in more than a dollar.

Will we LOSE our POINTS? There are only 4 more drawings left from WINNING WEDNESDAY, then it will be the end of the year. Will our points carry over until 2013 or do we need to use all of them by the end of 2012??? Thanks.

@ BLESSED - If you're referring to the Lucke Rewards Launch drawing, you can enter more than once. It is 50 points per entry.

I have been trying to purchase entries into the drawings, but it doesn't seem to work for me. I input the quanity,and it decreases my points, but when I submit entries, my point total goes back to the amount of points that I started with, and it shows that I have 0 entries. Please help. Thank You.
