Weekend wins in Catawba, Forsyth, and Iredell counties

Three tickets won between $10,000 and $77,450 in weekend drawings as the Powerball & Mega Millions jackpots rolled. Starting with Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, North Carolina players won $78,036 in total prizes and saw the jackpot roll to $61 million.

But it was Saturday night that players won the biggest prizes. A pair of Powerball tickets matched four out of five white balls and the Powerball to win $10,000 each. They were sold at the Propst Superette on N.C. 16 North in Conover and at the Circle K on Clemmonsville Road in Winston-Salem. The Powerball jackpot, meanwhile, rolled to $70 million.

Someone won $77,450 in Saturday’s Carolina Cash 5 drawing. The winning ticket, sold at Fast Phil’s on Mocksville Highway in Statesville, was the only one to match all five numbers to win the jackpot. Players with winning tickets for draw games have 180 days to collect their prizes.

I have played and played on my online subscription account and I see that I do better by buying my lottery tickets at a retailer location than buying them on the LuckeZone website. Why is the online account so locked up. I don't even win anything from the 2nd chance drawings and have spent a lot of time inputting the tickets. Getting very discouraged. I wonder how others feel about the LuckeRewardsZone. I think I am going to quit buying online and start buying all my tickets from a retailer.NC Lottery
Your chances of winning on subscription or by getting a ticket in the store are the same. We just had someone win $5,000 playing Lucky For Life Thursday who bought their ticket using subscription. As far as winning the Lucke-Rewards drawings goes, it's important to keep in mind that some of those drawings have over a million entries. But remember, you can't win if you don't have an entry. If you feel like you want to buy a ticket from a retailer instead of subscription, that's okay to. I hope this helps!

@ PLAYER (ATIK) - It's possible that we could have one in the future. After all, with other types of gaming, people place wagers much larger than $20. But as you point out its always important only to play games of chance with money you can afford to play with! :-)

I think staying at $20 as the most expensive ticket will be good. There will be not many people who can afford the tickets with price over $20.

@ C-MOE - We just started a new fiscal year on July 1 that will run through June 30 of 2014. At this time, there are no tickets with a price tag larger than $20 on this year's instant ticket calendar. As you know, we've never had a ticket cost more than that before. It's a possibility that could be considered in the future. But again, no plans at this time.

@ PLAYER (EC) - If we understand your question correctly... you want to know how the winners are determined in Lucke-Rewards drawings. The answer is that, once you've used points to enter a drawing, that entry has the same chance of winning a prize as any other entry in the drawing. If you have one entry in a drawing, and someone else has 20 entries in a drawing, that player has 20 more chances to win, but your one entry could win a prize. It's all a matter of luck at that point. We hope that answered your question and good luck to you!

on the points system,how is the winner chosen? by the numbers of entry we put in,the points for different entry will eat of allyour points,but you have to choses which game to play, the 10 points that play every wed is by far the best entry than any of game.thanks rlc.

@ SOUTHERNCOMFORT - The drawings were held as scheduled. A Lucke Rewards drawing winner's name is announced after he or she is successfully contacted by the lottery AND that person completes the claim process. The announcement is made as soon as possible.

@ CMITCHS - The point value is randomly assigned. A $1 ticket could be worth between 1 and 10 points; $5 tickets between 5 and 50 points; a $20 ticket (as you observed) between 20 and 200 points. It is a way to make Lucke Rewards more "rewarding" :-)

James Anderson, a resident of Raeford in Hoke County, is the first player to claim a $1 million prize in the Holiday Millions game. Well I guess he was very lucky, only been two days since I said something about the ticket. If he would had taken the annuity, how much would he have gotten a year? congrats to him, hope I can hit the big one soon.

Holiday Millions: only 3 top prizes on the whole run of the tickets. 100 counties in NC. don't know where it's at, until it is won. You will have to be very lucky to purchase the right ticket. It could be anywhere. Just hope it's me the next time I buy one, every once and awhile.

Can I ask...When are you going to put the odds for the new scratch offs online? I base what I buy on the odds, but since these tickets have come out there is an error message for when one clicks on "how to play and odds" link. There is no problem with the other cards and the same message when I've tried other computers so it isn't my system. Will you fix this? Thanks

So, with Holiday Millions: the game started with three prizes of $1 million that players could scratch-off instantly... and then the $3 million second-chance drawing is a separate prize that players can enter to win using their non-winning tickets. Also you automatically get reward points every time you enter a non-winning ticket for Holiday Millions (or any other instant game!)
