We’ve got lots of instant scratch-off game info for you, so let’s get right to it!

Three new scratch-off games launched this week, including one that might be of interest to folks who play Carolina Cash 5. Instant Carolina Cash 5 gives players the chance to win as much as $50,000 instantly or win free plays for the nightly Carolina Cash 5 drawing and a chance to win the jackpot. The $2 game launches with more than $5.3 million in total prizes, including four top prizes of $50,000. Players who scratch and reveal a “Cash 5” game symbol win two free Quick Pick plays for the draw version of the game. The plays are good for the next nightly drawing.

On Nov. 30, twelve instant games are ending. The games are $500,000 Jackpot, Junior Big Ol’ Bucks, High Roller, $20,000 Clubs, Wheel of Fortune, Count Up Cash, In The Chips, Love to Win, The Three Stooges, NASCAR Ultimate Fan, Fast Cash Bingo and Electric 7’s. All prizes and Lucke Rewards points for these games must be claimed on or before February 28, 2013.

Finally, we’re glad to announce that – through Dec. 16 –players who enter a non-winning $200,000 a Year for Life tickets will receive double points!

We hope everyone has a safe holiday. See you next time.

@ PLAYER (D2) - Almost the entire population of the state of North Carolina lives in Asheville and east of Asheville. Where you live in the extreme western part of the state, a person there has just as good a chance to win as anybody else, anywhere else.. there are just many more people playing for a chance to win east of where you live. Good luck to you!

Be nice if some of us in the west could win!!!from Asheville to the East always win,,but I guess we are to stupid out here, Right

@ KATHYO - For lottery prizes of $600 to $99,999, the claim process can be completed at one of the lottery's regional offices, and yes, there is one located in Charlotte. Just take a look on our main website for directions should you have a claim of that size to complete! :-)

@ CEM3 - There are probably other players who would like playing for the chance to win in a game like the one you're describing. Typically in state lotteries, tickets that cost $20 have fewer large top prizes as opposed to a larger number of comparatively smaller top prizes.

3/23/2013 02:13 - Ronnie B.

I would think that it would be better for all North Carolina lottery players, if instead of just 3 million dollar prizes that there should be 30 one hundred thousand dollar prizes. Better chances for the people to still win big!!!

3/23/2013 01:48 - katherine o.

If you should be a second chance winner where do you get the claim form/ Is therea claim center in charlotte n c?

1/28/2013 09:53 - JEFFREY Y.

PLEASE!! BRING BACK THE RAFFLE!!! It has the best odds to win. It would be a nice gesture for the loyal lottery customers. If you felt like there weren't enough tickets bought, you could do as they do in Connecticut and sell $10 tickets with fewer million dollar winners.

Hello. I left a comment on the "comment" section, so I don't know if this is OK to ask a question on or not. So, here goes.... How many times can a person enter a drawing? Say for example, these drawings coming up....one drawing is for only "one" and the other is for "five". Are you suppose to only enter these drawings once for the "one" and up to 5 for the "five"? Or can you enter as many times as your points allow? I hope I'm making sense. Thank you for any information.

12/26/2012 01:34 - Shanya A.

I have 2 Holiday Millions tickets that keep saying the entry numbers are invalid for the second change drawing...why is that? I have entered all of the other #314 non winning tickets I've purchase, but these two won't. Can you tell me why and what's the difference in the one's that have #31403 and 31404? Also TBD,

It is amazing the ones who do not win complain to the Lottery inferring it has done wrong when they do not win. They are ready to make themselves look right or bigger by making another look smaller as if it was someone or something else that caused their misfortune. When I don't win I always say "I missed it by one digit" or "I didn't pick that number or this number." I don't think I have ever blamed the lottery for my numbers not being the winning numbers. I understand I am playing 'their game' and it is up to ME to pick the winning numbers. I think the way the NC lottery is run is completely above board and honest! I then have to be as honest with my self and take any blame for my not winning big YET!

@ ANDYWILL4 - Please call this number to explain the issue you are experiencing: 1-800-201-0108

11/30/2012 12:18 - NC Lottery

@ BADDCATT326 - You have to keep in mind that there's a possibility a winner can't drop what they're doing to visit one of the lottery's regional claim centers. Some people need to take time off work or arrange for childcare or transportation to complete the claim process. You don't have to make accusations to get information about a topic you have a question about.

11/30/2012 12:17 - NC Lottery

@ IEGENDWO - First contact is attempted by email, then phone, then certified mail. Once a player responds to the lottery, the winner still can't be named until the claim process is complete and that depends on a winner visiting one of our regional claim centers. Thanks for your question

11/30/2012 12:15 - NC Lottery

@ CAMILLA - We are sorry to hear you are not happy with the speed of the updates. Many steps have to be taken to conduct the drawing fairly, notify the winner, and then have the winner travel to a regional claim center to complete the claim process. How fast the entire process happens is not entirely under our control. We hope that you and other players enjoy this new rewards program that offers more chances to win at no additional cost.

11/30/2012 12:10 - NC Lottery

@ VLPLAYER - It may be possible for you to claim gaming losses on your taxes, but that's not something the NC Lottery gives professional advice about. Our recommendation is to talk to a tax professional

11/30/2012 12:08 - NC Lottery

@ FATSO - As soon as there is a winner's name to announce, it will be announced. The lottery has to balance the desire of other players to hear who won with not placing too much of a burden on an individual who may need to schedule time off work or away from family in order to complete the claim process. Lucke Rewards points and drawings are a new benefit to players at no additional cost - so we hope its something you enjoy and something that can grow and be improved over time.

@ CHRIS28411 - Your suggestion will be forwarded. Thanks for your comment

Is it possible to list how many entries there are for a particular drawing so players can elect how may points they might wish to use on a particular drawing. This would work similar to when you get a Bonus Cash 5 ticket, it shows what number you are in the progression towards the draw date. Thanks and great idea to add these drawings!

11/28/2012 01:39 - Rosa G.

How long do other players have to wait to hear the winners name if the winner chooses to wait a long time to complete the claim process. It should be a certain time limit and yes I have been reading the rules. However I feel you guys are being a little unclear on the winning process. Things should be done in a timely an professional manner. There are a lot of players who check their inboxes on their phones at work an thru out the day as well as put their second chance drawings in every chance they get. Is it too much to look forward to seeing who has won each week to make sure there really is a winner?

11/28/2012 10:15 - Vicky L.

I have a question, say if you win any amount,if you have non-winnings sratch off tickets, you can get them off on the taxes on the money you did win?

11/27/2012 10:19 - Bonnie B.

It is 11-27 now and the site still has not even posted "winner notified" for the drawing held on Nov. 21. Again, how hard is it to put that on here? On the drawing before that the winner had already collected his winnings and had his picture posted but there was nothing on the site about the winner even having been notified let alone his name even though he came forward the day after the drawing. But all it said with his picture was he had won $2500. It didn't say anything about Lucke Rewards with his picture. One had to read the corner of the check to see that and that still didn't let anyone know which drawing he had won. I think since there was only one drawing it could have been posted on Wednesday that the winner had been notified since you were going on vacation. It causes people to lose interest when you don't follow through with the drawings. Someone is not doing his or her job.

11/27/2012 02:16 - Franz S.

How do you notify any of your winners? By Telephone? By Emai? By Mail? Or all three of the above if one notification is not successful? Thanks!

11/27/2012 12:55 - clara m.

Seems like the "winner"has had enough time to and claim.

11/27/2012 12:01 - Andy W.

Your points game is not adding right. It took over 300 points to enter a 50 point game. why dont you fix it?

11/27/2012 11:37 - NC Lottery

@ IEGENDWO - A winner who is notified can't be announced until he or she completes the claim process. Please take a look at the RULES link at the bottom of the screen for more details.

11/27/2012 11:34 - NC Lottery

@ SAVATE - Most tickets will be worth the same in reward points what they cost. But, to make it more fun and as an added benefit to players, there's always a chance your non-winning scratch-off ticket will be worth up to 10X in reward points what the ticket price was.

11/26/2012 07:54 - Franz S.

The winnwr of the first $2,500 winning Wednesday drawing has yet to be identified...all I read is that Winner notified! What happens if this person does not come forward and how much time does he or she have to come forward? I feel that you should include some sort of Clue, like in what City or Town. Thanks for clearing this up for me!

11/26/2012 07:35 - Tauheedah S.

I entered about 23 scratch off tickets and I only received the dollar point amount, no extra points for any of the tickets, seems very strange to me.

11/26/2012 05:27 - NC Lottery

@ HENRY - Sorry for the miscommunication we made on that in this blog. You can enter those tickets for Reward Points until Feb. 28, 2013. We are fixing the blog now.

11/26/2012 05:16 - NC Lottery

@ PLAYER - It is also true that, since the lottery began, retailers have received a 7% "commission" on every ticket they sell. That is not the same thing as being eligible to receive an "incentive" for selling a big-winning ticket. At this time, retailers may be eligible to receive an incentive for selling big-winning Cash 5, Powerball, and Mega Millions tickets. The lottery's role in the whole process is to ensure the integrity of the games and fairness to all players, everywhere. Who wins playing lottery games is entirely a matter of luck. Thanks for taking time to ask this question so we could share this information.

11/26/2012 05:15 - NC Lottery

@ PLAYER - The results of the Carolina Cash 5 Bonus Bucks drawing are completely random. Each entry has the same chance of winning. Many things said about how the lottery works are inaccurate. What is true is that a computer network connects all the lottery's retailers together to generate tickets for draw games, including play slips for the Carolina Cash 5 Bonus Bucks drawing, but that has nothing to do with the Bonus Bucks drawing itself, which is conducted using a certified random number generator.

11/26/2012 03:18 - Henry B.

Above blog state "the 12 instant games ending 30 Nov will no longer be eligible for Lucke-Reward points". If that is true then your below reply was misleading and has cost me Lucke_Reward points. I chose to enter high value tickets thinking I would have sufficient time (Feb 28, 2013) to enter my ending game low value non-winning tickets based on your below info. On 11/01/2012 11:02, Lucke-Zone said @ HENRY - Non-winning Count Up Cash tickets, same for all instant games, are eligible to be entered for Lucke Reward points until claim eligibility is over for the game.

11/21/2012 07:24 - jim m.

How do you do the drawings for bonus bucks cash 5? Are they also picked by location and retailer, I over heard (rumurs) standing by a retailer, said its an incentive, getting paid for every scrach and give me a big winner every couple of months. Its all controlled by a computer and who programs it,they know where winner go,but not which person.I Wasnt happy, thought it was luck. Please tell me this guys wrong.Hope you can help. How about powerball,is that the same too. Any info. pls
