NCEL Weekly Wrap-up

This week brought two big winners and a $1 million ticket that has yet to be claimed. Your Lucke-Zone weekly wrap up starts....right now!

It's always a pleasure to see players use their winnings to aid their retirement. That's just what Norman Piasecki of Hendersonville plans to do with his $343,624 Carolina Cash 5 win. Here's what he had to say about the moment he realized he had won the Oct. 27 jackpot.

“I woke up Saturday morning and got on the computer to check my numbers,” Piasecki said. “I saw the numbers all in a line, one after the other. I started shaking. I just couldn’t believe it. I was in total disbelief.”

This week's other big winner knows a little something about persistence. Larry Clegg, a resident of Bisco, said his favorite set of Cash 5 numbers came to him in a dream. When the numbers 1, 22, 26, 27, and 33 were drawn on Nov. 6, his dream became a reality.

“It was a dream some years back, and I stayed with it,” Clegg explained. “I came close and never hit it - until last night.”

A player in North Carolina beat odds of one in 3.9 million to win a $1 million prize playing Mega Millions this week.

A $2 Megaplier ticket sold in Sampson County matched all five white balls in Tuesday’s drawing and is worth $1 million. The winning numbers were 3-5-13-32-35. The ticket was purchased at the Piggly Wiggly on N.C. 24 in Roseboro. Remember, you have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.

@ SANDON - More promotions could be coming. Recently there's been the Green Ball for Pick 3 and the Bonus Bucks drawings for Cash 5. But something for Pick 4 is a possibility!

Read today that a fellow from Beaufort County won the Cash 5 jackpot recently. He stated that he had played the same numbers for a year and thought he would never win. Well, I've played the same numbers since the first Cash 5 draw (haven't missed a single draw!). That's over 6 years now. In that since, I'm way ahead of him! And I still haven't won. He said that they were his lucky numbers. What would he call them if they nevery hit?

@ GETRICH - There is no announced time of day for the drawing. Please keep in mind that once a drawing is held, it takes time for those results to be processed and for the winners to be contacted. Only after the winners complete the claim process will their names be announced

Along time ago I won a prize and paid bills and continue to play weekly. Wondering because I had won once,does it stop me from being picked to win another prize? Ive been playing from the begining of NC lottery,and Im sure you can pick which city and retailer the winner will be.So do we have better chance if we go,city to city,or is it real luck?

i did not see a place to leave comments for the Lucke-Rewards . i entered at least over 20 times with my points .. i was hoping to be a big winner .. how many times do i enter ? i think i wasted all my points on the first 2 drawings on the 7th . i am very dissapointed .. it took me days to enter my non winning numbers from scratch offs .. i do not think i will be plaing in the future .my son told me it was just a waste of time to enter all those tickets and i guess he was right ... best of luck and congrats on the winners
