Littleton woman to buy Christmas gifts with $10,000 Powerball prize

A Littleton woman says she’ll buy Christmas gifts with the $10,000 she won in Saturday’s Powerball drawing. Tammy Roberson chose her own numbers, matching four out of five white balls and the red Powerball to win the prize. She purchased her winning ticket at the New Dixie Mart on Old Farm Road in Roanoke Rapids.

Roberson, who runs her own cleaning service, said she was “happy and excited” and “very thankful” to win. She claimed her prize money on Monday at the lottery’s regional claim center in Greenville.

Halifax County is where the Powerball jackpot was first won by a North Carolina player. Jackie Alston of the town of Halifax won $74.5 million in the Nov. 29, 2006 drawing.

Does anyone dig in trash cans for non winning lottery tickets besides me? It gets a little scarey sometimes but it keeps me playing the Lucke Zone...HAPPY HOLIDAYS everyone......

@ REDROOSTER4 - Well, its all just a matter of personal preference. If you look through the comments on Lucke Zone blogs, you'll see that we say again and again that each of the 1000 possible number combinations in a Pick 3 drawing always have the same chance of being the winning numbers for each drawing. We are happy for the winners, no matter what the winning numbers are! :-)

Whats so great about winning triple numbers? You can win the same 500.00 playing single digit numbers in exact order. And seems to be easier...So who needs 444 or 333 or 222 when it pays the same as a regular exact order play ?

Today is My Birthday(12-16-12), was wishing to win Powerball last night or cash5. Well no luck on either one of them. Did win 15 dollars on my scratch off's I got as a gift from my wife. Maybe tonight's cash5 drawing will bring me some luck! Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.. please pray for the Families of that terrible tragedy, and to the poor little children who won't have a Happy Christmas.The Devil walks among us.....God helps us all!

@ TRYING - Winners in the Lucke Rewards drawings are contacted at the e-mail address they have set up with their Lucke Zone account. If a winner doesn't respond to the e-mail, the lottery attempts to contact that person by telephone, and then by certified mail if neccessary.
