A pair of tickets for North Carolina’s jackpot game, Carolina Cash 5, led to two of this week’s biggest lottery wins. Audrey Childers, a school bus driver and substitute teacher from Mount Holly, won half of the $566,968 jackpot in the Feb. 10 drawing. “I’m in a dream,” she said as she collected her $283,484 share. “I can’t believe it. I told my husband I was going to win. Now he believes me.”
Watch a short YouTube video of our other Cash 5 jackpot winner this week, Mark Tallent of Connelly Springs, talk about what he might do with his $155,807 jackpot: Head west to prospect for gold!

Speaking of Mega Millions, a $10,000 prize in the Feb. 17 drawing was awarded to Julian Williams of New Bern. Another Mega Millions player won big in the Feb. 21 drawing. We don’t yet know who bought the $30,000-winning ticket at the Shop N Save on N.C. 73 in Denver, North Carolina.
Two Power Play tickets are worth $40,000 in the Feb. 18 Powerball drawing. Edward Griffin of Washington won on the ticket he bought at the Shop N Go on N.C. 171 in Washington. The other ticket, sold at Lowe’s Foods on Widewaters Parkway in Knightdale, has yet to be claimed.
An Extreme Green prize of $200,000 was the biggest instant win of the week. Watch a short YouTube video of Ralph Fernandez, an Iraq War veteran, talk about how he happened to buy his lucky ticket on his way to pick up his son from school.
And with the excitement of the Daytona 500 on Sunday, we had our first $100,000 winner in the officially licensed NASCAR® scratch-off game, Ultimate Fan. Duane and Carol Burton of Clinton won the prize in the course of their Saturday morning routine - running errands, and playing a few lottery tickets.
