Jackpot Update: Cash 5 split, Mega Millions rolls

A weekend of big jackpots continues as a pair of tickets split the $330,688 Carolina Cash 5 jackpot Friday night and the Mega Millions jackpot rolled to $241 million.

The Cash 5 tickets, worth $165,344 each, were sold at the Wilco on N.C. 70 West in Garner in Wake County, and at the BP on N.C. 74 West in Monroe in Union County. The ticketholders have until September 12 to claim their prize money - but we'll be glad to meet them sooner than that at lottery headquarters!

The Mega Millions jackpot, meanwhile, continued its roll and is now up to $241 million for Tuesday's drawing. Each time it rolls, it sets a new record for Mega Millions jackpots in 2012.

[Update: The Powerball jackpot rolled to $70 million on Saturday night.]

Siler City seems to be out of the great experience of being on the winners seat - I wouldn't mind occupying that seat and helping our economy- So many people have lost their jobs and I want to give them some encouragement and get Siler City going again. I have plans to help those people who need help in getting their lives back. So help me and help those.

@ DEEP1 - Contrary to your assumptions, nothing about how the drawings are done has changed. It's all random luck what numbers are drawn. We love it when popular numbers are drawn and lots of players win prizes - its good for players and its good for ticket sales. But there's not a single thing we can or should do to control what numbers are drawn. It's 100% random.

@ JOANN - No, non-winning tickets from the first Ultimate Fan second chance drawing are NOT entered into the next drawing(s). New tickets have to be entered for a chance to win in each drawing.

let me get this correct,the drawing for the ultimate fan nascar game has been drawn,the winners have been announce. now all the tickets that i have submitted in the last game are null,why are they still on my tickets enter site. if i enter new tickets for the next drawing,will they be separate from my old one's..
