'Mega' jackpot of $363 million is biggest in state history

Have you been following the bouncing Mega Ball? It has rolled for 17 straight drawings, pushing the Mega Millions jackpot to $363 million for Tuesday’s drawing. The jackpot is now the largest prize North Carolina players have ever had the chance to win.

If won by a ticket in our state, the $363 million annuity would more than double the largest lottery prize ever awarded here. The current record is held by Frank Griffin of Asheville who won a $141.4 million Powerball jackpot in February of 2010. In all, five North Carolina players have beaten the odds to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot.

In the most recent Mega Millions drawing, North Carolina players won a total of $324,240 and five tickets matched four white balls and the Mega Ball to win $10,000 each. We look forward to watching the next drawing with you on Tuesday night. Good luck, everyone!

If I won I would set up a foundation that would take care of the poor, feed hungry children and adults in my county. It could last for many years into the future. I would certainly donate my 10% to my church. Set up trustfunds for grandchildren and make sure my greatgrand children are taken care of. And of course I would quit my jab, and start doing volunteer work.

@ 1ROCK2KING - Everyone with a ticket has a chance to win, though, and if you have 100 tickets then you have 100 more opportunities to win than someone who only has one. It takes "MEGA" luck to win, but you never know! Thanks for commenting and playing.

@ 1ROCK2KING - Well, to be clear about the odds of winning... each and every Mega Millions ticket has the same chance of winning a prize. The thing about a game like Powerball or Mega Millions is that there are approximately 175 million different number combinations that could be the winning combination, so having one or ten or 100 tickets doesn't increase your chances of winning very much compared to the number of possible combinations.

Hey just seen on the news,that no matter how many tickets you buy,the odd's are always the same. What a bummer. I was going to purchase 100.00 dollars worth of tickets tomorrow night.Won't be doing that maybe 25.00 dollars now. I also heard on the news,that these set of numbers 12-13-41-55-56 have not came up in the last 25 drawings. Guess I will have to give them numbers a try.Maybe we will have a multitude of winners.Hope i'm one.

Clemmons nc needs a big winner. I would really enjoy putting smiles on other people faces that i don't even know. To me having the finacial security would be great, but blessing others would be even better.

Good Luck Pkeys...I am also hoping for a big win. Myself and nine others have been putting our money together for weeks now...no one has won since we started playing.
