‘Aces High’ one of three games starting March 13

We like to make sure Lucke-Zone members are the first to get lottery news, winner stories, and information about new games. That’s why, today, we’re giving you a preview of three games that will go on sale next a week.

Players who like other card-themed games such as $20,000 Clubs or $125,000 Casino Cash might want to try a new Aces High ticket. With a top prize of $150,000, Aces High starts with more than $13.6 million in total prizes. Players who reveal a red “ace” symbol win $50 instantly. The overall odds of winning on an Aces High ticket are one in 3.97.

Another ticket on sale Tuesday is a $2 game called Electric 7’s which features a top prize of $27,000 and more than 64,000 prizes between $20 and $70. Players who reveal a “7” symbol win the prize shown and a “light bulb” symbol is worth $70. With overall odds of winning of 1 in 4.59, the game starts with more than $7.5 million in prizes.

Citrus Twist is a $1 game that comes in three colorful ticket designs. With more than $3.8 million in total prizes at launch, the game has a top prize of $4,000 and more than $179,000 prizes between $5 and $20. Players who reveal three “money bag” symbols within the same spin win double the prize shown.

This new batch of tickets has shown me the NCEL is making the odds worse and worse for winners... average odds in the past was 1:60 on a $5 game to win $50 now it is averaging 1:120... gee, thanks...

@ TMJ0731 - The media doesn't always cover stories about our winners, and when the media does cover those stories, players dont always see it. Within the last year, on instant games alone, there have been 59 wins of $5,000 or more in Wake & Johnston Counties, six of which were $100,000 or more, one of which was for $4 million last month. Since the lottery began through 6/30/11, Johnston County players won more than $57.1 million and Wake County players won more than $277.6 million.

I’m seeing a lot of blogs with the same complaint I have. I live in Wake Country and I see very few “big” winners in Wake and my neighboring Johnston County compared to what I see in other counties. While I understand the randomness of the distribution process it’s hard to believe that these two counties “seem to” have less winners. Is there data available to dispute this?

@ 3BOYZ - it varies from game to game. click on the ‘How to Play’ link on the individual game page and then multiply any of the prize level odds times the number of prizes to get the approximate number of tickets printed. then you can total up the total prizes compared to the total dollars if the entire game sold out.

i really like any new scratch off tickets, for the first 5 days. but i hate $5 tickets. i want to see something new to the scratch seen. how about a $2 ticket with a top prize of $500 or a ticket with NO break even prizes.

My opinion it's funny how everybody gets into a buying fenzy when the new ticket's come out. Look folks not all the higher tier tickets are out there save your money and play smartly. The lottery got to make money it's a business they are not going to release all the big winner's. The man behind the curtain is counting how much money he making per ticket he's not going to lose. He also knows where the winner's are warehouse/certain batch etc. Experience tells you your going to lose more then you win! As the wiseman said play smartly be patient

I like to get the scratch-offs when they first come out. The ones I do good on I buy more often, but I do have my favorites. When I am low on cash - I don't buy one.

I will buy the Electric 7 a lot because it is a $2 ticket. I will buy one or two of the Aces High but not until the middle of a pack. I will buy a few of the citrus tickets because they're cheap and pretty ( I'm talking about TICKETS folks!)

For the big ticket payoffs...always go to a neighborhood store or some very small town that no one has heard..rural hall for example.

I have bought 10 tickets in a row of a games and not one ticket was a winner.Then I get 7 out of the 10 winning tickets so it is random. I bought 10 Nascar tickets the other day and 8 tickets were winners. I bought 10 Jumbo Bucks and not 1 was a winner, boy was I made, spent $100.00 and nothing. It just pure LUCK!!!!!

You folks expecting to win something out of say 4 or 7 tickets have no concept on how odds work. What is meant on say winners 1 out of seven is this. The amount of tickets printed overall is seven times the number of winners (any winner from the lowest amount to the largest. If you put 100 marbles in a bowl and 10 are white and 90 are black, your odds of drawing a white ball is 1 in ten. It does not mean every tenth one drawn is white. Also on you cards there may be several winners in a row. I've bought three of the same $2 game and the first one paid $2, the second paid $50 and the third paid $10. ALL in sequence.

I like themed games alot. But I really like if there are multiple ways of winning such as 15 times with a symbol and so on. I also like the big tickets they sell in Va with more than one different game (same theme) on the same card. It would be great if Nc got some like that.

@ LUCKLESS - Absolutely nothing would stop a "big money" ticket from showing up at any retailer. When you have thousands of retailers and millions of tickets, the random distribution process means they show up all over the place.

@ SIXSIX1MAN - The odds of winning are set at the beginning of the game and, once the first ticket is sold, they vary up and down for the rest of the game. Because the tickets are distributed at random throughout the entire game, it's very possible for there to be a string of non-winning or winning tickets in any pack of tickets. It would be illegal/unfair to make every fourth or fifth ticket in a roll of tickets a winning or losing ticket. It all comes down to luck!

@ SIXSIX1MAN - Those are good questions that we receive often. When a game begins, all the tickets for that game have already been printed. Winning and non-winning tickets are distributed at random throughut the entire game, and the first person to find out if a ticket is a winning ticket is the person who scratches it off. As stores sell tickets and need more, they order more, and they're delivered to the store.

I usually buy a few of the new ones and if I win I keep trying and if not I tend to stay away from them. Or I check the site to see what big prizes are still left and then I check the odds and see if I feel the vibe from them. I try to let the cards call me. It helps a little.

all the money i been losing on strach-off I now spend a fraction of it on mega millions and powerball tickets. it is shameful when the odds on these games are better than the ones on nc lottery (p3,p4,c5and the s.o.)
