Lucke-Zone members who play draw games: Do you have a special place where you keep your tickets? We’re hoping that whoever bought the following tickets worth between $200,000 and $1 million signed them and stored them somewhere safe.
In North Carolina, players have 180 days from the date of a drawing to claim prizes on winning tickets. That means that the $200,000-winning Powerball ticket sold at the Scotchman on N.C. 210 in Benson for the Nov. 12, 2011 drawing is set to expire on May 20.
At this time, four tickets worth $1 million are out there somewhere. For each ticket, here are the details on what game it is for, the date of the drawing, and the store it was sold at:
Of the four North Carolina tickets that won $250,000 in the record Mega Millions drawing on March 30, just one remains unclaimed. It was sold at the Kroger on Six Forks Road in Raleigh.
The lottery does all it can to generate awareness of where big-winning tickets like these were sold so that the prizes can be awarded. In the event a winner doesn’t present a winning ticket within 180 days, half the prize money benefits education and the other goes back into the prize pool for future games. We hope to meet these winners soon and wish everyone the best of luck.
