Every lottery player has preferences about what games to play, how to play them, and what he or she would do after winning.
But if there are two words – besides “you won” – that are easy on everyone’s ears, those words might be “taxes paid.”
Three new games starting Tuesday, April 3 give players the chance to win top prizes with the taxes already paid.
Players who like $1, $2, and $5 games can choose the Taxes Paid ticket they’d like to play, and the top prize they’d like to play for:
- A $5 ticket for the $100,000 Taxes Paid game gives players the chance to take home one of six after-tax prizes of $100,000. The game begins with more than $20.1 million in prizes.
- Players who buy a $2 Taxes Paid ticket could win one of eight top prizes of $30,000 with initial taxes paid. The game starts with more than $8.2 million in total prizes.
- A $1 version of the game features eight top prizes of $5,000 with the initial taxes paid. The game launches with more than $4.5 million in total prizes.
Our advice to top prize winners on Taxes Paid tickets is the same as it is for anyone who claims significant winnings playing the lottery: Talk to a tax professional. You might get good news that the initial taxes paid cover your obligation, but better to find out how everything fits together on the front end. It all depends on the individual’s unique financial picture.
For more details about these tickets and how to play, check out the game pages on our official website starting Tuesday.
