Ticket sold at Jackson County store wins $186,960 jackpot

A Carolina Cash 5 ticket sold at the Catamount Travel Center in Cullowhee is worth $186,960. The ticket was the only one to match all five numbers in Monday’s drawing to hit the jackpot. The winning numbers in the drawing were: 1-3-5-22-28. Whoever purchased the ticket has until Nov. 3 to collect the prize.

If it turns out the ticketholder lives in Jackson County, it would mark the second-largest prize ever awarded to a resident there. In June 2008, a player from Whittier won a $429,792 Carolina Cash 5 jackpot.

North Carolina players with winning tickets for draw games such as Carolina Cash 5 have 180 days from the date of a drawing to collect their winnings. The lottery advises winners to sign their tickets immediately to establish ownership.

That was really lucky. Wonder if it was a QP or their own numbers. As we know a winner can come from anywhere, but I always thought most winners come from more populated counties where people play bunches of numbers and lotsa $ where ooutlying counties are more conservative.
