Attention scratch-off players: Three new games start Tuesday, Aug. 7 featuring different play styles and, most importantly, millions of dollars in prizes.

Diamond 7s gives players the chance to win one of six $100,000 prizes. It’s a $5 ticket that launches with more than $16.5 million in total prizes including more than 240,000 prizes of $20 to $1,000. Scratch the diamonds to reveal 15 prizes and match the number under a prize with any of four winning numbers to get lucky. Players who scratch and reveal a blue “7” symbol win double the prize shown.

Another new game players can try is called Fire ‘n Dice. The $2 ticket features colorful dice-themed graphics. Players have ten chances to scratch a higher dice roll number than the adjacent play space to win the prize shown. Revealing an “ALL” symbol will win all ten prizes on the ticket. Fire ‘n Dice launches with six top prizes of $20,000 and more than $5.1 million in total prizes.

At $1 per ticket, Lucky Gems is a third game going on sale and starts with ten top prizes of $3,000. Scratching off three gems in the same row, column, or diagonal line wins the prize shown. Lucky Gems launches with more than $3.5 million in total prizes.

The games will begin appearing in stores as new tickets are rotated into the dispensers. As always, we wish all our North Carolina players the very best of luck.

@ SUNNY44 - We can't say for sure because we can't examine your ticket, but one possibility is that your ticket won a prize. If not, please call this toll-free number for assistance: 1-800-201-0108

I got a ticket the numbers will not go through . What should I do ? I got it out of the machine .It was a 5 dollar ticket

@ FUNHERE - We pass along this feedback, but please understand this type of prize is standard within lottery games across the country. Hey, better to win something than have a non-winning ticket, right?

In reference to clint 408, I have had the same thing. Hit a 5x on a 5$ scratch-off and have the proze amount be $1 !!! or 2x prize amount on a 2$ ticket and the prize be 1$ !! This is a cheap way the Lottery thinks you have a nice winning ticket. They shold not have a prize amount on a scratch-off less than face value, PERIOD!

The new tickets arrived today, purchased $70, did not win a penny. They named one of them correct, Bah Humbucks!!!

Today I purchased five consecutive numbered tickets of the new $5.00 dollar $2,500 a week for life scratch off....didn't even win five dollars..I do better with the scratch off tickets I pick up in Va. May have to spend my money in VA.

There are more retailers and more lottery players out west... I think that's why so many winners pop up there. The rolls/packs of tickets are sold faster with all those players.

I have to agree with most of the comments that have been left here. If you live in a certain area they seem to win the largest amount on the SCRATCH OFF tickets. Wonder why! I'm glad u r starting to reward us in the program u r starting in October. I love this idea, but I'm waiting to see what kind of rewards that u r going to give out.

@ CLINT408 - Sorry to hear you didn't have better luck on that ticket. Tickets for games of chance in many states have a variety of prize distributions including ones similar to the one you described. Thank you for the feedback and best of luck on your next game

OK,LOOK_____ at the above winners list. All winners are from Goldsboro ,East and Greensboro ,West. This is just not once in a while but everyday.Something is not right about this.

8/04/2012 08:35 - Barbara K.

John-You are right, but the winners start mostly in the Greensboro area, west.Keep up with it for yourself and see.I have played every game that has came out for years and never won. This is not luck did I have none.It is the area.

Shannon- Where do you live?

8/03/2012 04:41 - Tim P.

If you spend $20 on a scratch off and uncover 3 or 4 $5 instant prizes............what a bummer! It's hard enough to get a winning ticket as it is. It makes you want to not play anymore! You think you are really going to have a good winner and it turns out to be hardly anything! Quit being so greedy and reward those multiple winning tickets!

8/03/2012 09:01 - Tracy C.

neither does the letter "W", go figure

8/03/2012 08:56 - NC Lottery

@ CHANDRA - The non-play information on scratch-offs varies by game and is unique to North Carolina. To answer your second question, no, the letter "L" does not indicate that a ticket is a non-winning ticket.

8/03/2012 08:44 - NC Lottery

@ GALE - The lottery encourages retailers to pay out prizes, but some have less cash on hand or have their own store policies. Grocery stores are often a good place to get larger prizes paid out.

8/03/2012 08:44 - Chandra W.

Is there a 3 digit code list for scratch offs? Is the letter "L" on a scratch off ticket and automatic losing ticket?

8/03/2012 12:22 - Shannon M.

I love the scratch-off tickets! I have won a lot of cash myself. The highest amount that I have won on a single $2 ticket was $500!! So, I welcome the new scratch-offs.

8/03/2012 12:09 - James M.

Like all others, these new scratchers are a game of chance. If you have the money to lose then go for it; if not then stay away! Who knows, you might get lucky!

8/02/2012 09:48 - dorothy m.

the thing is, you got to be there at the wright time to pull the winning ticket. matter where you live.

8/02/2012 07:51 - Robin M.

retailers dont want to pay out when you win $100, claim they dont have it and you have run around town to collect a $100. why is that!!

8/02/2012 12:10 - NC Lottery

@ JOHN - If you look at past blog entries, players from all across the state ask us similar questions, but for different places. Everyone has the same chance of winning, regardless of where they live or play.

8/02/2012 10:26 - Barbara K.

If you never win anything it makes no difference,Aubrey.

8/02/2012 08:16 - john n.

going to the wining list I see more people win north of charlotte why is that

8/01/2012 11:03 - aubrey m.

to all those players out there who spend money on s.o. c5,p3 and p4 tickets. start keeping a total of what you spend. win vs loses think about it you could be spending a fraction of this amt. on powerball or mega tickets you'll find you average out winning more!!!

8/01/2012 09:38 - teresa s.
