Our Green Ball Bonus Draw promotion paid off for winners in the Carolina Pick 3 evening drawing on the Fourth of July.
First came the winning numbers in the Pick 3 drawing. Two. Eight. Four. Then up popped the Green Ball for the first time since the promotion drawing began on Sunday.
Depending on the play type and wager selected, matching all three numbers is normally worth between $40 and $500. But since the Green Ball was chosen, winning combinations are worth between $48 and $598.
In Wednesday’s evening drawing, there were 1,223 winning tickets with a total prize payout of $145,537, up about 20 percent due to the promotion. Valid tickets for evening Pick 3 drawings during the promotion are automatically eligible for bonus cash at no additional cost.
When the promotion started Sunday, six white balls and one Green Ball were loaded into the draw machine. As white balls were drawn in the Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evening drawings, each were removed, improving the chances for the Green Ball to be drawn. Three white balls and one Green Ball were loaded into the machine for Wednesday’s drawing.
A Green Ball could be chosen any night, but one will be picked at least once every seven days.
For tonight’s drawing, all six white balls and a Green Ball will be loaded back into the draw machine.
Pick 3 prizes and Green Ball bonus money can be claimed at any lottery retailer.
The promotion will continue each night in the Carolina Pick 3 game through Saturday, July 28.
