Single ticket in Michigan wins 3rd largest Powerball jackpot

A single ticket sold in Michigan captured the $337 million Powerball jackpot on Wednesday night.

Wednesday's night's winning numbers were 6, 27, 46, 51, 56 and the Powerball was 21.

The jackpot was estimated at $320 million, but as the drawing began it was announced that it had risen to $337 million. At that size, the jackpot became the third largest in Powerball history.

In North Carolina, five tickets matched four out of the five white balls and matched the Powerball and they are valued at $10,000 each. The lucky tickets were sold at:

Family Food Mart, Malcolm Boulevard, Rutherford College.
Tmart, Cumberland Street, Dunn.
Kangaroo Express, Tryon Road, Cary.
Market Center, Hendersonville Road, Asheville.
Hanuman Market, Riceville Road, Asheville.

The winners have 180 days to claim their prizes.

The Powerball jackpot will reset to $40 million for the Saturday, Aug. 18 drawing.

@ PLAYER - The odds of winning the jackpot are actually better than they were before the changes to Powerball went into effect. Since the new game started, we've had 13 winners of $1 million here in North Carolina; during the same time frame last year, we had nine $1 million winners. So the new game is leading to wins for lucky players; we wish you the best of luck in the future

Wow... Just wondering if anybody elses is seeing what I am seeing since Powerball tacked a 100% increase on there ticket prices.. I won far far fewer times now and when you do win the lower level prize winners don't win near what they use too. The fact that the big jackpots are getting bigger shows they changed the odds in there favor for anyone not to win. Just like my ticket last night.. I got 2 numbers and the powerball. Spent $15 dollars for 5 lines and even with that I didn't even pay for my ticket winning only $14. Before I at least had the chance to win something but it seems that they are taking the bottom level prize money away to fund the higher prizes. Since the odds that someone will get at least 1, 2 or 3 numbers or the powerball the lottery ends up being the only real winners here. Sad thing is I purchase at a min. $15 tickets twice a week and since they have changed the price and payouts I have only won enough to pay for the actual price for my ticket once... REALLY?????
