Two lucky tickets split the $764,146 jackpot in the Wednesday, Aug. 22 Carolina Cash 5 drawing, splitting the largest jackpot seen in the game all year. Each ticket matched all five winning numbers which were: 1-12-17-23-33.
One of the jackpot tickets was sold at the Smile Mart on Eastchester Drive in High Point. The other was sold at the Wilco at the corner of Western Boulevard and Gum Branch Road in Jacksonville.
If that location sounds familiar it is because the store made headlines when a $1 million Powerball ticket sold there recently expired. No winner stepped forward with the ticket that matched all five white balls in the Feb. 4 drawing.
As is always the case with winning tickets for draw games, players have 180 days to collect their winnings. We hope to meet the lucky ticketholders who split the $764,146 Cash 5 jackpot here at headquarters soon.
The odds of winning the Carolina Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 575,757. The jackpot for Thursday’s drawing is reset to $50,000.
