A lucky North Carolina Powerball player won $1 million on Wednesday night. The winning ticket was sold at Matthews Shell on East Independence Boulevard in Matthews. It matched all five white balls to win the prize. The winning numbers in the drawing were: 1-5-8-39-50 and 23 for the Powerball. The ticketholder has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prize at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.
In all, Powerball players won $1,149,517 in total prizes in the drawing on 20,957 winning tickets. Because no ‘perfect ticket’ matched all six numbers on Wednesday, the Powerball jackpot rolled to $174 million for Saturday’s drawing. Since 2006 when the game came to North Carolina, three Powerball players from our state have beaten the odds to win the jackpot.

They say you can't win if you don't play but I have played & played with nothing more than small wins (less than $50 on scratch offs & $14 on cash 5). Have bought a couple of the new scratch offs with weekly payments for life only to not win anything so I have lost interest. Good luck to the ones of you that are still trying!!
I know it's my time for a big payout!!!!
