Bonnie Richardson of Burlington bought a $2 ticket for the Triple Winning 7’s instant game at the Food Lion on Harden Street in Burlington. When she scratched off the ticket, she found out she won the top prize of $27,000!

Richardson collected her prize money at the lottery’s regional claim center in Greensboro. She said she felt excited when she realized she won.

The Triple Winning 7’s game started Oct. 30, 2012 with 8 top prizes of $27,000. As of Tuesday afternoon, three top prizes – and many others – remain to be claimed in the game.

Also I hope you folks don't fall for the rumor about the tickets that have a white line across the bottom. For over a year now it has been said 2-3 above or 2-3 below this ticket is always a winner. The line has nothing to do with a winning ticket. It is merely a place where the bottom of the large print set is that was off a small amount and no ink or print made it on the ticket. These tickets are printed on large rolls then cut down to size.

David Keith,,, there are about 6100 lottery retailers and if you don't or haven't won off a 000 ticket, do you think it could just be the odds there?? Also if you add the number of games the lottery has to that then your odds have dropped again. Then consider this, You are not at every store, every time a new batch is opened. You are putting your self in a conundrum placing yourself on such a narrow path of winning. Your odds have greatly decreased by looking to win on one particular ticket. Lighten up and enjoy the whole pack where the tickets have a larger range of possible winners.

@ DLORILIE - We're working on a blog about Sum It Up right now! :-)

@ PLAYER (JR) - You probably asked your question in an older blog entry, which is where the answer to your question would be. We posted a blog about the $3 million drawing yesterday that includes the total number of entries received so far. Good luck!

i asked a question the other day, and now it is not even up on the blog, nor has it been answered. I would like a response to it. I would like to know to date, how many entries have been entered for the 2nd chance 3 million dollar holiday ext. drawing? I realize the deadline is a ways off, but I would like to know what the current odds are looking like, so how many entries are currently in?

I just picked up the little card that explains the " Sum+It+Up" promotion. Can you tell me when it is scheduled to start? Thank you!

@ DAVIDKEITH - A winning lottery ticket could be absolutely anywhere on a roll of tickets.

2/04/2013 01:09 - NC Lottery

@ KIMBERLY - Once a player buys a lottery ticket, its 100% up to that individual whether or not they want to keep the ticket. We encourage players to keep their non-winning tickets, but there's nothing the lottery can do to prevent another individual from collecting a discarded ticket. We will, however, pass along your observation/comment. And we're glad you enjoy Lucke Rewards

how can you win money on a card and the numbers don't match up? i like reading the blog because i learn something new each day.

I do believe there should b some kind of extra ruling to those who work at stores which sell tickets because they have more resources and more of an advantage of getting none winning tickets to enter for points, from people who throw them away r what have u then us who r actually purchasing our tickets.I have seen this in several different stores of employees who have lots of tickets saved from their shift of working, which they didnt actually purchase them selves unlike the ones who do.But other than that I love what is being done to give us other chances to win.keep it up.

Truthf NCEL,Went and got four scratchers and two of them were 000, fresh roll, they were duds, been playing lottery fom day one, these were not my first 000, never won on any of them, truthfully! Do any of the rolls have winners on the end of the roll,I'm sure ncel will say sure there is, not when I get them, just wondering and I will not take the first or last ticket off a roll. Be good to yourselves everybody.

@RSMITH- Take them to store to have scanned. I had a card that none of the numbers matched the winning numbers and there was no instant prizes either. so i tried to enter it for points and it said invalid entry. so i took it to the store and it had won.

Congrats to Mrs. Bonnie I work at that food lion lion and I was there and she is a regular customer and a very sweet lady she deserves it. May God bless her and her family

@ RSMITH - Not sure what the issue is; can you call this toll-free number to explain the situation? 1-800-201-0108

I have some non-winning tickets for eligible games that I tried to enter for drawings, but was told that the entries were 'invalid'. I checked and double checked, but don't see any winning numbers. What should I do?

Congraluations to Ms. Bonnie on her lucky $2 dollar scratch. Enjoy your cash.

@ 5XCHAMPS - We'll pass along your suggestion, but please understand that the Lucke Rewards system is not meant to serve the same purpose as a ticket scanner. We're sorry to hear that the situation is inconvenient for you, but we hope that this shows you how careful our security team is to PROTECT Lucke Zone members like you from individuals trying to get points they haven't earned. Just because our security team looks carefully at something doesn't necessarily mean they think there was any wrongdoing, they're just very careful. Also please keep in mind that the Lucke Rewards program is a new benefit to players at no additional cost. We appreciate all our players and wish you the best of luck.

@ BAYT777 - Often, the lottery shares information with retailers ahead of time so that they can be trained to provide good customer service to lottery players. There's lots of information that the communications team has to work through - winners, new games, new features, answering questions, etc - we'll work to share more info on these topics ASAP. Thanks for the feedback

Lucke-zone:Did I miss something! Was there an announcement made about Pick 3/4 changing? I just found out about the Sum-It-Up addition at my local retailer. Also, it was mentioned that Mega and Powerball would change soon to a Luck-rewards points system for losing tickets.I thought Lucke-zone players would be some of the first to know of changes in the Lottery.I guess I was wrong.Best of luck to everyone! Congrats Ms Bonnie! Buy one lucky 2 dollar ticket, and win! What luck! I purchased 6 one dollar tickets the other day, won 2 dollars back. Guess my luck is not working! I'M hoping it won't be much longer, would really like to go down to KEY WEST FLA, this summer! Will keep playing though, you can't win if you don't play!

1/29/2013 04:32 - Dennis C.

Evidently there is a code embedded that locks out accounts after too many non-valid entries are attempted. It is intended to keep people from thying to enter random numbers to get points. I can understand that but it should be been written in the rules. Someone thought of this at a meeting but they failed to consider someone like me that you like to check to see if his ticket is a winner. Please amend the rules. I am now under an internal investigation with the NCEL due to this and it will take a week for them to come to a conclusion. Sad. Again, please amend the rules to prevent this from happen to people who spend their hard earned on money with the NCEL.

Is that the same Cindy Willians from Goldsboro,NC that won 500 in Lucke drawings as the one that won cash 5 drawing with her dad willie With a huge cash 5 jackpot... Just wondering.....

Thanks for the response and congratulations to this deserving lady. I didnt mean to overshawdow her win.

@ 5XCHAMPS - There could be a technical problem or misunderstanding. Please call this toll-free number to explain the situation: 1-800-201-0108 [Update on 1/30/2013: Note to all players.. the Lucke Rewards web pages are not meant to serve the same purpose as a ticket scanner. The Lucke Rewards program allows players to enter non-winning tickets for points.]

Just a word to the wise..be careful when you enter your points in Lucky Zone. I like to check my cards in Lucky Zone prior to scratching them off. If it says ‘invalid enter’ then I know I have a winner and I take my time scratching it all the while dreaming that it may be the one. I don’t it all the time, as I usually scratch in the car but sometimes I take them home and do this. It is part of the enjoyment of the game for me. Well, I just got penalized for doing this. I have been permanently banned from entering tickets in the lucky zone! I saw nothing in the rules about this. I emailed support and no response. I have purchased my last lottery ticket from the state of NC. I was an exceptional customer that enjoyed the game but I won’t be able to get the bad taste out of my mouth over this. I think others should know this about the Lucky Zone so it doesn’t happen to them. God bless.
