Powerball to bring back Power Play multiplier in January

If you’re a Powerball player who likes to Power Play your ticket, you’ll see a change in January when the random multiplier prize feature returns.

Currently, if you choose a Power Play option and win, you get a fixed prize amount for all prizes but the jackpot. But beginning with the Jan. 22 drawing, your winnings, except for the jackpot and Match 5 + 0 prizes, will be multiplied by 2, 3, 4 or 5, whichever number is chosen randomly during the drawing.

We hope that will be good news for North Carolina Powerball players who told us they preferred the multiplier feature to the fixed prizes.

You’ll see no change in prices. A Powerball ticket will continue to cost $2 and purchasing the Power Play option will remain an additional $1. You’ll also see no change in the matrix, the range of numbers that can be chosen for the five white balls or the red Powerball. The prize structure for a $2 Powerball ticket remains the same, but some Power Play prizes will change because of the return of the multiplier feature.

Players who buy multi-draw tickets with Power Play should pay attention to the change in the prize structure. The tickets they buy for drawings from now through the Jan. 18 drawing will pay prizes based on the current prize structure of the game. Those bought now for drawings beginning on Jan. 22 will be based on the new prize structure. You can see the current and new prize structures for lower-tier prizes here.

I hope someone invests in this site to improve feedback and comments. I could not find where to leave feedback so I just picked a blog and here goes. Previously, once you entered your ticket online the system would inform you had a winning ticket. When you changed to allow for entry of winning and non-winning tickets online, the notification went away. I would like to see it come back as it is double check for me. I missed some in the past and the system told me and I was able to cash the ticket in. I hope the lottery did not do that in hopes that they could keep the money in hopes you miss some along the way.

I have a losing All or Nothing ticket and every time I try to enter lucke-Reward entry code, it says entry not recognized. I have encountered this issue several times. The character looks like a open bracket. Sample: 903[X. I sent help desk a copy of the ticket about 3 months ago. Never heard back from them. That was my second request.NC Lottery

Where does the money show when you win on line? I won $1.00 twice on the cash five and I have not seen my winnings. I charged the charges to my visa for 14 plays, as well as other games. Thanks!

All draw game tickets, win or lose, are eligible for rewards points; so its possible that you're not seeing one of the letters or numbers correctly; you can report the problem to technical support by clicking the HELP link and filling out an ONLINE SUPPORT form.

E-mail notifications are typically sent within 48 hours of a drawing. But sometimes, for staffing reasons, it can take longer. In any event, we can only announce a winner's name after he/she responds AND completes the claim process, which can take days or weeks. We will share the info as soon as we can.

the lottery is one big damn fraud. I have spent hundreds of dollars on the online games and only have useless tickets to show for it. I have entered several drawings on here and havent won yet. It;s frustrating to spend your hard earned money and get no joy from it. They dont care as long as you are feeding them your money to fill their greedy pockets. I am through with this fraudlent scheme thats cost me money and happinessNC Lottery
If you are unhappy when you play, you should not play. Lotteries offer no guarantee of winning anything, only a chance to win, which takes luck. Most tickets don't win prizes, that's what makes it possible to have the chance to win more than you spend. We wish you the very best.

I wonder if any of the sore losers, who make sour comments to the lottery on this blogged, who enter ever game played,with numerous tickets, who won prize packs in the past before making several comments about the way this lottery is played. Not possible. The drawings are conducted using a random number generator, under the supervision of an auditor, according to specific security procedures.

I'd like to know if the changes made to Powerball and MegaMillions over the past year have resulted in more profit for the lottery or less. Have people been driven away by the increase in price in one case and the increase in available numbers in the other? I know I've reduced the number of times I play and the number of tickets I buy. I thought both games were fine the way they were, quite honestly, and I'd personally like to see them return to the old formats.

Lucke-Rewards drawings are random drawings... having even just one entry in a drawing gives you a chance to win. Making more entries gives you more chances to win. But, as with all things in the lottery, it comes down to luck! Good luck!

@ AL - Any way you pick your numbers playing Powerball, you always have the same chances of winning a prize. The more sets of numbers you have for a drawing, the more chances you have to win. @ MICHAEL924 - The lottery attempts to notify winners of drawings within 48 hours, first at the e-mail address associated with their Lucke-Zone account. If we don't hear back, we attempt telephone and then certified mail. Whether or not a winner has been notified has to do with the winner responding, not the lottery's effort to do so.

I personally play the multiplier in mega millions and have less winnings than anything. I play cash 5, power ball and mega millions every drawing. $3.is a bit much. I play where I can draw the most -to-a point.I would really like a law passed where winners can remain can remain anonymous.There are those out here , if they be known be big money winners their life could be at risk.As long as taxes are payed , should be all required, Some towns are so small everyone knows everyone else. I know many states are already allowed to remain anonymous.Please and thank you.
