Pender, Wake County tickets split $145,660 Cash 5 jackpot

A pair of Carolina Cash 5 tickets sold in small towns split a big jackpot on Thursday night. Each ticket beat odds of 1 in 575,757 to win $72,830 apiece.

The Pender County ticket was sold at the Food Lion on U.S. 17 South in Hampstead. The Wake County ticket was sold at the Dash In on North Arendell Avenue in Zebulon.

The winning numbers in the drawing were 2-12-14-24-28. The ticketholders have 180 days from the date of the drawing to collect their prize money at one of the lottery’s regional claim centers.

@ PLAYER (RESAH) - The first way winners of Lucke-Rewards drawings are notified is at the e-mail address associated with their Lucke-Zone account. A member of the lottery's marketing team typically sends out that e-mail message. Our e-mail addresses come from addresses that end in @lotterync.net ... if we don't hear back via e-mail, we attempt telephone contact. You will always have the option of calling us back here at lottery HQ to ensure that the person calling you is from the lottery. If we can't get ahold of a winner that way, we send certified mail. So don't worry! :-)

I would like to know who contacts you for the lucke-rewards drawings. It says you'll be notified by the NCEL or it's fulfillment vendor, but who is the fulfilment vendor and what comes up on your caller id when they call? Do they leave a message telling you why they are calling if you miss the call? What will their e-mail say so you know it's not spam? This has bothered me because I get a lot of bogus phone calls and don't answer if I don't recognize the caller. Please answer this question, I really worry that I might miss a notification.

@ BUN - The lottery encourages retailers to cash out for lottery prizes, but often they have their own store policies. Often, grocery stores are a good place to get a prize. If you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to call our player customer service team at 877-962-7529

it is getting really hard to cash a winning lottery in at conv. store now, most of them say they dont have money and a few will only want to pay you 40 dollars and give you a money order which is litterally imposible to cash.

@ PLAYER (BJEANK) - Winners of the TV package will have it shipped to them at no charge :-) As for taxes, definitely no sales tax. The lottery will also take care of the minimum estimated state & federal taxes on the prize, but its possible depending on each winner's unique financial situation that more or less taxes will be required. If you win the television package.Do you go to the claim center to pick it up.And do you have to pay any sales tax on the package. Just Wondering.
