Deadline nears for $50,000 Bonus Bucks drawing

The clock is ticking.

Carolina Cash 5 players who want a chance to win $50,000 in the next Bonus Bucks drawing have until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 to enter. The drawing will be held on Dec. 4 and it’s easy to be eligible to win.

To get any entry slip for a Bonus Bucks drawing, make a $5 Cash 5 purchase in one two ways:

Select five sets of numbers for one drawing on a single ticket purchase
Choose one set of numbers for five drawings on a single ticket purchase

When you do this, you’ll get your $5 Carolina Cash 5 ticket and a separate Bonus Bucks entry slip will be automatically generated - at no extra cost. Each entry slip has a 9-digit number.

If the number on your entry slip matches one of the winning numbers in the Bonus Bucks drawing, you win a prize. For each drawing, five prizes will be awarded: three $1,000 prizes, one $5,000 prize, and one $50,000 grand prize. After the drawing, check the Bonus Bucks page on the lottery’s website to find out if you’re a winner.

Bonus Bucks entry slips issued after Nov. 20 will be valid for the next drawing, which is scheduled for Feb. 5, 2014.

@ PLAYER (ricky3107) - Sorry you didn't get the info you needed from a lottery retailer. But if you purchased five Cash 5 tickets and qualified for a free entry in a Bonus Bucks drawing, your entry is automatically entered. So that cut-off date doesn't effect your entry, only which drawing you are in. Your entry should be in the Dec. 4 drawing so please check it against the winning numbers to see if you have won. Also, anyone who got a Bonus Buck entry after Nov. 20, the entry would be for the Feb. 5 drawing. If you don't get the help you need from a lottery retailer, please call our Customer Services helpline, 1 877 962-7529, Mondays through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and we have someone who can help you.

It would be nice for retailers to know in advance what the cut-off date is for the upcoming bonus drawing. For example, I have one entry for the December 4, 2013 drawing and didn't know the cut-off date was November 20th until I saw it on this website. Also, I saw a customer on 11/23/13 receive a bonus entry but it's for the February 4, 2014 drawing. Thanks.

If you're referring to your Bonus Bucks entry slip, your entry number is not something you enter anywhere. You just wait until the drawing has been held, then check our website for the winning entry numbers. And if yours matches, you win a prize! Good luck :-)

@ PLAYER (NC0000001) - Bonus Bucks winners labeled at "TBD" means that the prize can still be claimed, but we don't know who the winner is. A Bonus Bucks prize labeled as "unclaimed" means the claim deadline has passed. When that happens, half the money goes to benefit education, and the other half goes back into the prize pool that players can win in future games :-)
