Scott Potter, an HVAC technician from Willow Springs, has a reason to love the “Bucks” family of instant scratch-off games. Twice, he says, he won $500 prizes playing Junior Big Ol’ Bucks. The lucky streak continued this week when he scratched off a Jingle Big Ol’ Bucks ticket that would turn out to be worth $5,000.
“It’s my favorite game and I am faithful to it,” Potter said.
Potter, who works for Environmental Heating and Air in Cary, purchased the winning $5 ticket while buying gas at the Airport Boulevard Mobil on Airport Boulevard in Morrisville.
“I scratched off two $1,000 prizes and I got so excited,” Potter said. “I had to let my friend scratch off the rest of it for me. I really couldn’t believe it was worth $5,000. The other wins felt good, but this one felt really good.”
Potter plans to use his winnings to buy his mother a new pair of glasses, go on a deep sea fishing trip and help give his family a nice Christmas.
As of Thursday morning, four $100,000 top prizes are available to be claimed in the Jingle Big Ol’ Bucks game.
