Four new games coming this Tuesday

Four new instant scratch-off games go on sale Tuesday including the lottery’s first limited-edition game, Carolina Limited. The other new games are Ultimate Crossword, Cold Hard Cash, Carolina Limited and Tic Tac Cash.

Fans of extended-play style games should be on the lookout for the new $5 game Ultimate Crossword. It starts with five top prizes of $100,000 and more than $9.7 million in total prizes.

Cold Hard Cash is another $5 game that starts with five $100,000 top prizes and more than $14 million in total prizes.

Carolina Limited is unique in that the entire ticket supply will be shipped to retailers at the game’s launch, making it a limited-edition game. The $2 game begins with more than $6.3 million in total prizes, including more than 38,000 prizes from $50 to $500.

Tic Tac Cash, a $1 game, begins with 15 top prizes of $4,000 and more than 1.3 million winning tickets.

I think that than the same amount of prizes would be available to win would they not be??? how many self serve checkers do you have against how many lottery agents do you have, no state I mean no state has ever ever had two of the same game running at the same time. Please Again is this even legal??? Answer that please on this or privately. We ALL Just want a fair chance at winning. Are you saying all are from the same game? there is no two of the same games running?? please answer that clearly?? PLEASE BE CLEAR, PLEASE. Just so every one knows I did hit a 100$ winner on the holiday 10$ ticket in Roxboro. My family needed it. My family does not need me buying tickets seemed fixed two of the same game??????? what is that?????

@ PLAYER (PSHIELDS) - In this case, game numbers had to be changed because going forward our tickets have barcodes that enable them to be scanned by self-service ticket checkers. All of the lottery's practices are reviewed and audited to make sure they're fair to everyone :-)

@ LUCKLESS - Due to the nature of the way a limited edition game works, not all retailers could get the game. As for geography, we've talked about this many times so now you know that most people who live in North Carolina and most lottery retailers are indeed west of I-95. That doesn't mean individuals on either side of the highway have a better or worse chance to win, it just means MORE people west of I-95 are taking a chance to win. The lottery can only operate because it is fair to everyone who plays.

How can you have two of the same scratch off games at the same time 2$ DOUBLE MATCH. how does a person know what game they are buying game launched in May #262 or game launched in Oct #392 IS THIS EVEN LEGAL ????

Wonderful, My favorite retailer received NO "limited edition" tickets, and there were NO winners of the Cash 5 extra "drawings" east of I-95 and out of all those "drawings" I can only find one winner that didn`t live west of I-95.

'oreo' to lisajo13 in the rolesville area don't quit the mega million game all you have to do is spend 5:00 a ticket,you will have a better chance than the 1:00 dollar ticket,1-75! my wife and i usally spend between 25 dollar to a 100 dollar not know more just the 5 dollar ticket.merry christmas and happy 2014 year!

@ ROZ - Each game is different. Some have fewer but larger top prizes, or second-chance prizes, or larger "second-tier" prizes, or an even larger amount of smaller prizes. There is a variety of games to choose from, hopefully some have the features you like. The lottery pays out a higher % in prizes today than it did when it began.. good luck to you! :-)

@ MABEL - Although there are many other places in North Carolina where more people are taking a chance to win than the relatively small population of Halifax County, we've had plenty of winners there because the odds of the winning are the same for any player, anywhere. Cold Hard Cash sounds good to me! the cold and hard,plus the CASH is what got my attention, cause it's COLD outside and it's HARD to win CASH!! Just Winning the BIG DOLLAR AMOUNT on the scratch off's is hard! Just a 100,000 dollar win would be so sweet! That would make my day! 68,000 after taxes, will suit me just fine! Thank you! Other than my daughter's bruises from air bags and steering wheel and her 2 yr old biting his tongue(all 4 kids in car seats) they are fine. Maybe the lottery can work in child safety by having drawing for items like car seats and booster seats, bikes with bike helmets included, etc. They really do protect kids in accidents.
