We love it when players are lucky enough to beat the odds and win a prize playing the lottery. We don't love it when those prizes go unclaimed. That's why we make end-of-game announcements that broadcast the date by which winning tickets must be presented to collect prizes.
Back on Aug. 30, we announced that Thursday, Dec. 12 would be the claims deadline for 15 games that were ending. Those games are Cash Spectacular, Quick Bucks, $100,000 Taxes Paid, 20X The Money, 3X The Payout, Bejeweled, Fast $50, Instant Carolina Cash 5, Spades, 10X The Payout, Blackjack Tripler, Diamonds 4X, Lucky Green, Hot Streak and Power 7's.
Claims under $600 can be made at a lottery retailer before midnight on Dec. 12. Claims of $600 to $99,999 must be made at one of the six regional claims centers before 5 p.m. on Dec. 12, while claims of $100,000 and above must be made at NCEL headquarters in Raleigh before 5 p.m. on that day.
Claims that are mailed to the NCEL must be received within 90 days of the official end-of-game date. Postmarks will not satisfy the 90-day requirement.
So if you've got tickets for any of the games mentioned above, make sure to check them again to see if you're a winner before Thursday, Dec. 12.
