Chris Dossenbach of Sanford said he’s “still in disbelief” after winning $25,000 in the 2013 New Year’s Cash drawing held on Feb. 6. He came to lottery headquarters to collect his winnings and share the story of his good luck.
“I entered hoping I’d win,” Dossenbach said. “I never thought it would come to this.”
Dossenbach said he plays instant games once or twice a week and has been entering his non-winning tickets for Lucke-Rewards points since the program started in October. He estimated making ten entries in the drawing that made him a $25,000 winner.
Dossenbach, who is an assistant principal at Southern Lee High School, said his good luck could not have come at a better time because he recently bought his first home and has student loans to pay off.
“I can’t tell you how much it’s going to help,” Dossenbach said. “I do plan to use a little to take a nice vacation.”
Dossenbach said that, as an education professional, he sees the positive effects that lottery funds have made for education in Lee County. Programs there have received more than $17.3 million in lottery funds to pay for teacher’s salaries, school construction, at-risk four-year-olds to attend prekindergarten, and need-based college scholarships and financial aid.
Lucke-Zone members have the choice of two monthly Lucke-Rewards drawings in February: the $25,000 Sweet Rewards Drawing and the NCEL 200 Race Package Drawing. We’d like to congratulate Mr. Dossenbach and wish everyone the best of luck.
