Some players tell us they have practical plans for their prize money like paying off bills or saving for the future. Powerball winner Christine Page has something fun planned for her $10,000 in prize money: The Albemarle woman says she’ll buy a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Page, who is a retail manager, said she was “shocked” when she realized her Powerball ticket matched four white balls and the red Powerball in the Jan. 26 drawing. She purchased her winning ticket at the Alco on East Main Street in Albemarle.
Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $208 million if claimed as an annuity, or $130.7 million if taken as a lump sum. We’ll be watching with our North Carolina Powerball players across the state to find out if we have any big winners. Good luck!
