I feel there should be people outside the nc cash5lottery to verify every draw should be verified withem also. That nothing should be tampered with, all the balls are in the case, all balls weigh the same thing. How about some outside verification???

@ NEESEE - Players in Hyde County have the same chance to win a prize as anybody else, its just that there are only about 5,000 North Carolinians in all of Hyde County... there are more than 9,000,000 people living in North Carolina. The lottery's practices are already audited, our records are out in the open - you can make whatever public records request you would like to make.

@ OHIO85 - The NCEL is required to withhold the 25% federal and 7% state taxes on all lottery wins of $5,000 and more. If the winner (like you) lives in another state that has income tax, the lottery winnings would have to be claimed on their state taxes as well.

@ DEBINNC - The lottery would love to have a station in the Wilmington area that carries our drawings. Ultimately it is up to a station in your area to sign a contract with the lottery to do that. @Lucke-Zone I see where both You and the player are coming from. The lottery is meant to be a game of fun, yet we know that many of the people that play are playing in hopes of a financial gain that could lead them to a more comfortable life or just help with those more important things your talking about. So when you advertise numerous people winning big prizes everyday, whether it be through a banners on stores, or through pictures and names on a website, and people are working a job that doesn't pay them that well or a job that's frustrating, or have no job at all it's only natural people are going to say let me give it a shot or say "if I keep playing I have to eventually win." So even though yes the lottery is supposed to be fun, the people that play are also looking for financial gain, and that is something that is important to many players. Now with that being said I do believe people should still be aware of the risk and play responsibly.

If you're not winning, take a break and play when you have money to play with. I get frustrated as well but I know it's all about luck and chance. I've won $1,000 once and that motivates me to keep playing because maybe one day I will hit a much bigger prize. Good luck everyone!

come on now!!!! please "Cash 5" make my wake up tomorrow morning a VERY happy morning with a win on this!!! i believe the most i have EVER won is about $80, and that was on a scratch off.. I've never won anything other than my money back, or a few bucks profit (less than $10), on any of the printed tickets! I know that almost everyone could really use this money right now, and I'm not wishing bad luck on anyone by any means, but WOW, WHAT A BLESSING IT WOULD BE TO ME IF I COULD WIN SUCH A GOOD CHUNK OF MONEY TONIGHT!!!! @ PLAYER (SW) - Most of what the lottery brings in is paid back to players in the form of prizes - about $2.6 million a day. You're right that your luck isn't any different than anyone elses. It will always be true with games of chance - in North Carolina and anywhere else - that it takes a lot of luck to win. The odds of winning $500 playing Pick 3 are 1 in 1000; the odds of winning at least a breakeven prize on a scratch-off game are usually between 1 in 3 and 1 in 5; but every time you play, your odds are the same, they dont get better or worse as time goes by. We hope people will play the lottery for fun, and if its not fun for you, then there are things more important than playing games of chance, and we wish you the best.

every time i go and play a number the cashier tells me that this is a gimmick, that nobody hardly hits for anything, tickets,games or whatever. now im starting to believe it because ive been playing every since the lottery has been out, any ive never hit anything 3,cash5 mega power ball whatever the 1,2,5, 10 and $20 tickets ive never hit i find that very odd, i dont think my luck is that bad,im just just starting to think that this a big getover and you are making billions at pimping and pedaling people fortheir hard earned money and you are keeping the majority of it.
