A $20,000 lottery winner from Duplin County says she’ll use some of the prize money to pay for her son’s college education. Denitia Wilson of Warsaw scratched off the instant prize playing the Power 7’s instant game.
Wilson, who works in the food service industry, collected her winnings at the lottery’s regional claim center in Wilmington. There, she said she was excited when she realized she won the prize. Wilson purchased her winning ticket for $5 at the El Mariachi Gordo store on South Pine Street in Warsaw.
The Power 7’s game started Jan. 2. As of March 8, four top prizes of $200,000, five prizes of $20,000, and many more prizes remain to be claimed in the game.
