Holiday weekend is lucky for Cash 5 and Powerball

The holiday weekend was also a lucky one for players who purchased four big-winning tickets.

On Friday night, a pair of lucky Cash 5 tickets spilt the $112,344 jackpot to win $56,172 each. The winning tickets were sold at the Super Kmart Express on Bridford Parkway in Greensboro and at the Chatham Street Fast Fare in Cary in Wake County.

One of Saturday's two $10,000-winning Powerball tickets was also sold in Wake County. That ticket was sold at Carlie C's IGA on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh. The other was sold across the state in Caldwell County at Tobacco to Go on Hickory Boulevard in Lenoir.

Winning ticketholders have 180 days from the date of a drawing to collect their prize money.

This just a suggestion: Why not put up " to be announced" after a name is picked for all event until it is verified, because some people will wait daily or weekly to check E-mail or sit next to phone for imput about a drawings. The thing is you have the name, but others should not wait for them to comtact HQ. May be I am wrong but don't that sound better?

Just clicked on the POWERBALL numbers generator on LUCKE-ZONE. The first 6 numbers it generated, I wrote them down. My picks ain't working! So what the heck, I'll give them a try for tonight's drawing. Won't hurt nothing, unless my numbers I play all the time comes up! It's time for a NC winner!!! I noticed the pick 4 number 5431 came up on 3-28-13..it came up again on 4-2-13! today's draw was day, the MARCH draw evening. what a coincidence that was! I missed the 3351 draw,I would have won on that one, unfortunately I didn't play it that day!

@ CARMAN - The lottery doesn't "release" particular tickets. Non-winning and winning tickets are distributed at random throughout the entire printing run of each game, and nobody has any idea where a winning ticket will show up until somebody scratches it. We wish you the best of luck!

I'm a newbie to this whole thing so lets hope I get beginners luck ;) Didn't have much luck with the actual scratch offs (which is unusual for me I usually do ok on them) though I have noticed every $10 or more card I have ever bought I have lost out completely but I decided to take a chance with the monopoly tickets since they are 'second chance' tickets and well the first chance did me no luck so fingers crossed!!! I do like the website though, pretty cool set up!

Now that the majority of tax refunds have been issued,cashed,and spent,how about releasing all those (105,000) 100.00 winning tickets on the 5,000 a week for life game? My company does some printing for the lottery , like the big checks and displays for scratch offs.( not the scratch offs themselfs ) Does this affect my possabilty of winning the cash 5, or Power ball and Mega games if i was to win big.

Congrats ! It was a Good Friday for 2 lucky people. By the way, I love the simplicity of the 2nd chance monopoly games. If you break it down your tickets give you a 3 fold reward. You get points,monthly 2nd chance drawings,and the super drawing is just an added Bonus! You need to collect all 4 game pieces for an entry. That is why it has a " MONOPOLY" theme.
