A Powerball ticket sold at the WilcoHess at 6995 Western Boulevard Jacksonville won $1 million on Saturday night. The same Jacksonville store sold a $1 million-winning Powerball ticket last year.
Gregory Wernli of Jacksonville claimed the prize on Monday morning. His win makes him the fifth player in North Carolina to claim $1 million or more playing Powerball in 2013. Wernli had one of 18,102 winning tickets in Saturday’s drawing. In all, Powerball players in North Carolina won a total of $1,134,346.
Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $60 million if taken as an annuity or $38.9 million if taken as a lump sum.
