Star Trek-themed instant game launches Tuesday, April 16

04-16-13: An instant game based on the iconic Star Trek™ entertainment franchise is coming to North Carolina. Fans of the TV series and films will recognize the intergalactic graphics. Players of this $2 game will have the chance to scratch and win one of five $20,000 top prizes.

You could win instantly, but the journey doesn’t have to end when you scratch. Lucke-Zone members can enter non-winning tickets here for more chances to win. Not only will you earn Lucke-Rewards points you can use to enter weekly and monthly drawings, you’ll also be automatically entered into a second-chance drawing for the chance to win a trip to Las Vegas for the 2013 Star Trek Convention!

When the game goes on sale, players will have the chance to win more than $4.8 million in total prizes. Each of ten prizes on a ticket has a corresponding number. A prize is won when its corresponding number matches one of the two winning numbers. Scratching to reveal a “star” symbol wins all ten prizes on the ticket. Approximate overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 4.4.

Besides the chance to win cash or a trip, the game will also bring you an online Star Trek trivia site. With six TV series dating back to 1966, and the 12th feature film coming out in May, there should be no shortage of competition to prove whose Star Trek knowledge will reign supreme.

@ BCS - We were hoping you would call our customer service team so they could talk through this with you. For Security purposes, the Regional Office only carries $500 in cash daily and is allowed to pay in cash up to $100 per ticket. Over $100 must be paid by check.

Lucke-zone- More details for you. A couple of weeks ago I went to the Charlotte regional office around noon, as I described in my first post. The girl at the window said that they aren't supposed to cash out more than $100 unless you are buying tickets. She said she would "help me out" & cash out as much as she could. She entered $170 of my tickets, stopped, and told me that was all she could do. She said if I had come later in the day she may have been able to cash out more. I did go ahead and trade in another $100 in winners for more tickets. Later that day I went to my regular store and cashed out the rest. Hopefully you can see why I took this to be your policy. She really acted like she didn't have enough money to cash me out. I didn't understand it because I knew the regional office is where you cash out larger prizes. Honestly, I felt like it was a ploy to get me to trade winning scratch offs for more scratch offs instead of cashing them out.

I'm not feeling the Star Trek theme. But good luck to all the Trekies out there. My scratch off of choice is the $10 ones . I personaly have been very lucky and have had loads of $50 and $100 winers and a few $500 ones. I had a good run on the old Carolina Gold ticket , that ticket was very good to me.

BCS, that's not true. I went to a regional office and cashed in $500 tickets often,thats why they're there!

Are you sure you didn't win a prize on the ticket you're trying to enter? Feel free to call our technical customer service for assistance: 800-201-0108 ... 20 thousand - wow, think about that, even after taxes, I would probably end up with maybe 13 - 14k. Then I could afford to go to Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant !

Thanks LuckE Zone, for making ticket entry easier! It's also a great way to make sure you've not missed any winning tickets, as the system doesn't accept those.

Last week I had several winning scratch offs to cash in, totaling around $400. I thought it would be easier to go to your regional office to cash them rather than having a retailer cash that much out. I was surprised to be told that they aren't supposed to cash out more than $100. How can you expect retailers to cash out larger amounts when your regional offices won't?

@ CHRISTOPHERT - We saw your question on the other blog entry, and posted this response: Quite often, state lotteries will pull a scratch-off game once the prizes at a certain level have been claimed. In the case of Holiday Millions, all three $1 million prizes have been claimed, as well as the $3 million second-chance prize. So at $20 per ticket, that game will be ending. Don't worry, we'll always be introducing new games throughout the year :-)

good morning nc education lottery, yesterday i went into my favorite retailer to buy my favorite scratch-off tickets and they were gone, the retailer told me the lottery person came in and took several different ones out of the display, all the christmas ones including the 20.00 one, why is this, there are still over a million dollars in winning tickets on all of these scratch-off, this is the second time this year this has happen, Why?

Texas has started this new STAR TREK Ticket also. I remember watching the old STAR TREK with William Shatner, A long time ago. California now plays Powerball, tonight will be their first drawing. Won't take long before they will have a winner from there. Could be tonight! Going to make it harder for us folks here in NC to win now! Large population in California! Hope the odds are with us!

@ WINDUD - You're the second player to ask us that question (on a different blog entry). The new $10 Monopoly game does have one fewer winning number space than other $10 games, but it has one extra play feature than other $10 games do. So it balances out that way. The estimated odds of winning aren't affected. Good luck!!
