Monday is fourth ‘Bonus Bucks’ drawing entry deadline

The deadline to enter the fourth Bonus Bucks drawing is coming fast. Cash 5 Bonus Bucks entry slips issued before 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 27 will be valid for the June 3 drawing. The lottery teamed up with Charlotte Motor Speedway to offer folks the chance to win more in this drawing: Each entry gives you an extra chance to win not only $50,000 but also a 2013 Toyota Tundra.

It’s the same truck that set the pace for the truck racers at the NCEL 200 last weekend. This mighty machine has a 381 horsepower V8 engine under the hood. Passengers in the double cab interior will enjoy the comfort of front bucket seats and dual zone air conditioning. The exterior is painted silver sky metallic with chrome bumpers and fog lamps. Tech enthusiasts will like the USB port with iPod connectivity and hands-free phone capability.

In addition to the grand prize package, three $1,000 prizes and one $5,000 prize will be awarded. It’s easy to be eligible to win. To get any entry slip for a Bonus Bucks drawing, make a $5 Cash 5 purchase in one of the two following ways:

• Select five sets of numbers for one drawing on a single ticket purchase
• Choose one set of numbers for five drawings on a single ticket purchase

When you do this, an entry slip will be automatically generated (at no extra cost) along with your separate $5 Carolina Cash 5 ticket. Make sure to get your Cash 5 ticket and your entry slip at the time of purchase – and keep them both. After all, both could make you a winner.

Bonus Bucks entry slips issued after May 27 will be valid for the next drawing. Here is the schedule:

• Draw #4 - Entry Deadline: May 27, 2013 Drawing Date: June 3, 2013
• Draw #5 - Entry Deadline: July 17, 2013 Drawing Date: July 24, 2013

To find out the five prize-winning numbers randomly selected in the fourth Bonus Bucks drawing, check the Bonus Bucks page on the lottery’s website on June 3, or call the lottery’s customer service hotline at 877-962-7529. Prizes won in the Bonus Bucks drawings must be claimed at one of the lottery’s regional claim centers, or by mail. That means winners’ names will be announced only after that process is completed.

Make sure you’ve got your entries before midnight on Monday, and best of luck to all.

@ KIMBALL777 - The reason that both winning & non-winning draw game tickets can be entered for Lucke-Rewards points is that when the code is printed on the ticket, the ticket could win or not win a prize depending on the outcome of the drawing. With instant scratch-off tickets, the result is a mystery to everyone until its scratched off, but only non-winning tickets are eligible for rewards points.

@ PONG - For a player who wins a prize in a Lucke-Rewards drawing or second-chance drawing, the lottery first notifies the winner by e-mail, at the address associated with his or her Lucke-Zone account. We always tell winners they're invited to call us here at HQ to confirm that it's not some kind of scam! :-) A winner has 30 days from the time the first e-mail is sent to complete the claim process.

@ BUSTER - No. Once you've successfully entered a ticket here in the Lucke-Zone, you don't need the physical ticket as proof of anything.

@ KIMBALL777 - No player is at a disadvantage when it comes to winning a Lucke-Rewards drawing. Remember, if every player kept his or her tickets and entered them for Lucke-Rewards points instead of sometimes leaving them behind for someone, all of those other players would be entering for more chances to win, too. Either way, there will always be thousands of other players entering for a chance to win - it may only take one entry to win a prize. Good luck!!

What's to prevent retailers (owners & employees) from using losing tickets that customers give them to check from entering those tickets in the drawings? I think that gives the retailers an unfair advantage since they probably get 100s upon hundreds of losing tickets given to them each week. They can simply enter these tickets, which they didn't even buy, as losing tickets or give them to a friend to enter. It puts the average joe ticket buyer at a huge disadvantage since more entries = more chances to win. It'd be interesting to see how many of these drawing winners are actually retailers or employees or friends.

Well my 27 entry #s weren't even close. So I spent $135 spread out over 8 weeks. That was within my lottery budget. I'll buy 1-3 a week for the next 2 months and try again. There is still a lot of 2nd chance drawings to be won this week! Weekly, monthly and monopoly ! As long as we all have 1 entry into the drawings we all have a chance of winning. A slim chance , but a chance none the less.

As with any lottery prize, however, how a prize fits into a winner's overall financial picture and tax obligation is beyond our control. Whether to use points to enter this drawing for merchandise or another one for a cash prize is completely up to each player - good luck to you whatever your choice is! :-)

On these prize packages like the grill, cooler, Omaha foods,, valued at $4087 dollars and some change,, this means a winner would be responsible for the taxes OUT OF POCKET. Shouldn't there be some cash to keep a winner from having to do that?? AND for 75 points per entry. The $2500 for 10 points per entry is more logical and more reasonable mathematically! $2375 in pocket after taxes.

Also in the past when you entered your number it automatically would return to the first block ready for new entry. I emailed the tech folks, got a mail they had rec'd mail and that was it. Techies never sent anything else and still one has to click cursor on first block.

Well, I estimated 1 in a million, so I was close. I'm surprised. Last drawing was over 1.1 million. I thought with the truck taking the prize to over 88k there would be even more entries.

I don't even know where to put this but...CAN WE STOP WITH THE TAB BUTTON ON TICKET ENTRY??? Let me explain. Some days when you enter tickets for points, it automatically tabs to the next field so you can enter the numbers quickly. Other days you have to hit the TAB key to get to the next field. That is slow and aggravating. Why can't it just tab automatically every day? Why does it change?

Bought my 10th ticket today! Might get another one tomorrow before the deadline! Would be nice to have a new Toyota truck, but my wife needs a gas efficient car to drive to work and back. So if I win, probably will trade it for a car for her. Will keep my Nissan frontier truck, and use the money to pay off a few bills and take a nice vacation at the beach and Mountains in the Fall.
