Hot Summer 2nd Chance promotion starts June 6

What are you doing this summer? Starting Thursday, each eligible ticket you enter here in the Lucke-Zone will automatically give you a shot to win $5,000 in a Hot Summer 2nd Chance Drawing. In each of three drawings, 20 prizes of $5,000 will be awarded.

On top of receiving Lucke-Rewards points, any ticket submitted during one of the entry periods gives you a chance to win $5,000 in the promotion. The first entry period starts Thursday:

Drawing 1: Entry from June 6 - June 30 (Drawing on July 3)
Drawing 2: Entry from July 1 - July 31 (Drawing on Aug. 7)
Drawing 3: Entry from Aug. 1 - Sept. 3 (Drawing on Sept. 11)

Just as with Lucke-Rewards points, non-winning instant tickets and all draw game tickets are eligible to win in a Hot Summer 2nd Chance Drawing. This includes non-winning tickets for MONOPOLY and Star Trek that have their own separate second-chance drawings.

The lottery will attempt to notify winners by email within 48 hours of a drawing. Once a winner has responded to notification, the Winners page will be updated. A $5,000 winner will claim the prize at one of the lottery’s regional offices. A winner’s name will be announced only after he or she has been notified and the claim process is complete.

Remember: No matter what games you like to play, one eligible ticket will get you one entry in one Hot Summer 2nd Chance Drawing. Just enter your tickets for Lucke-Rewards points like you usually do. Then sit back, relax and enjoy the summer. Good luck, everyone!

@ PLAYER (MT) - You do not have to be logged into the Lucke-Zone at any particular time in order to be eligible to win in a Lucke-Rewards or second-chance drawings. The drawings are not set for a particular time of day as they are for the daily draw games. The drawings are always held when the lottery's drawing and security staff are available to conduct them under the supervision of an auditor. You just have to make sure your entries are made before the entry deadline for a given drawing. Winners are notified by e-mail, usually within 48 hours of the date of the drawing.

@ PLAYER (S) - Take a closer look at this blog entry, you'll see that in order to get an entry into the Hot Summer promotion, all you have to do is enter any ticket that's eligible for Lucke-Rewards points, and you will automatically get an entry into a Hot Summer drawing :-)

Ok- It is June 13th! Where O' Where is this Hot Summer Contest at????? I am reading June 6th as the start date for the contest BUT when you go to the 'Drawings' page it is nowhere to be found! @ SANDON - There is not a specific second-chance drawing for the $200,000 Extreme Cash game. But, as you point out, all non-winning instant scratch off tickets you enter for Lucke-Rewards points will get you an entry into a Hot Summer 2nd Chance Drawing, during the promotion :-)

I asked that question as well a while back, wondering how in the world the lottery could tell when a particular ticket was purchased. (Obviously for some tickets that would be easy but for scratch off that would be more difficult unless they were tied into the cash register system, which they could be). I was told that the lottery has was to track every ticket sale. I found that interesting to say the least, but happy this has been cleared up now.

The lottery attempts to reach drawing winners within 48 hours of the drawing - at the e-mail address associated with their Lucke-Zone account. If we don't hear back, then we attempt to reach them by telephone and, finally, certified mail. THEN the winner must complete the claim process. We can only announce a winner's name once this is done, which as you can tell can sometimes take days or weeks. We understand why folks want to know - we do too! :-)

@ PLAYER (L2010) - Where did you see that the Hot Summer promotion started June 5? The answer to your question is that only a ticket entered during the set entry period will get you an entry into the drawing.

Apology excepted. I just entered over 20 monopoly tickets on the 5th that I was saving for this months drawings. Oh well, It's still all good. If any one wants to know or keep tabs on how many entries they have in this hot summer drawing , click on the winners tab and scroll down. That's where you can find all your monopoly entries also.

I love how the gas station that I buy my tickets from type up a sign every month of how much they paid out the previous month. March it was approx $40,000, April $39,000 and May $ 37,000 plus they post all signs (I guess from NCEL) of winning tickets!! It's motivation. Maybe more stores should do that.... I don't see those winning ticket signs at Ingles or other stores. It would be nice also if there was a list of where all winning tickets over $600 were sold. Our local news did a piece on the top 3 stores for WNC and I can't find where they would have gotten that info from, is it public record?
