New ‘Hit $500!’ game spreads the wealth

Hit $500!, one of three new games launching Tuesday, foregoes the instant game trend of offering 10 or fewer large top prizes, instead giving players the chance to win one of more than 2,700 top prizes of $500.

The $5 game has more than $14 million in total prizes and players can win up to 15 times on one ticket. To win a prize, players match any of 15 numbers to one of four winning numbers. Players who reveal a “Moneybag” symbol win $500 instantly. Revealing an “$$” symbol wins double the prize shown.

The newest $2 game, Cherry Twist, features four top prizes of $25,000 and more than $5.3 million in total prizes. Players win prizes by matching three identical symbols in a row. Revealing two identical symbols and a “Cherry” symbol wins double the corresponding prize. More than 69,000 prizes between $20 and $100 can be won in the game.

Roll out the red carpet! Platinum VIP, the newest $1 game, features 8 top prizes of $8,000 and more than 1.1 million winning tickets. Each ticket has three “games” that can be scratched off. Matching two like numbers in a game wins the prize shown instantly. Revealing a “VIP” symbol wins $20 instantly.

Players in cities have no better chance of winning than players in small towns... there are just more people in cities taking a chance to win. You can ask someone in Greenville or Charlotte if its somehow easier to win a prize playing the lottery; they're sure to tell you the same thing we're saying: It takes a lot of luck no matter where you live! So far, I like this new game Win $500. Though I haven't scratched any money bags for the $500 prize, I've won $40, $15, $10 and $5. That's the best luck I've had on $5 tickets, and I buy a LOT of them. It's bothersome though that there aren't more winning tickets in each roll; especially the $10 and $20 games. How can one buy 5 or 6 $20 tickets in a row, and they ALL are duds???? I've done the same with $10 tickets and still duds....I continue to play because I like scratching, but it would be nice to see more winners; even if it's just to break even.

I won $100 on the HIT 500. I was excited. It's my biggest win so far! :) Question - how come I can't view the winners anymore for the second chance drawings? I was able to see who won on Winning Wed and the others. Now I can't see any. They all have dashes under the winners column. Also, when you do the second chance drawings, do you post the number that won?

I am not a hater on other people winning the lottery! However, I have been buying and not winning anything on the scratch offs and lottery tickets (Picks 3, 4 and Cash 5)!! I am optimistic one day I might win. I have been entering a "MASSIVE," amount of 2nd Chance Tickets for all the drawing and coming up SHORT every time. Today, I log on my Email account and see an Email from the NCEL 2nd Chance, and I immediately thought I was a LUCKY winner on one of the drawing being held! To my discovery, it was an advertisement Email, and not a notification from the NCEL that I won something! What a shame to add INSULT to INJURY! Don't get offended, just saying!

Please dont put out a new ticket offering without updating the odds page on the link 'How to play and odds'. Still no info on this new $5 card is available. I am not interested in overall odds. I want to know the odds at each prize level prior to considering a card for purchase. We would like to know what is in a roll before we invest in a new game. I notice it takes a week or two to get this updated. Surely that info is available and can be supplied the same day as the ticket goes on sale. Am I unfair in asking for this info? North Carolina's state lottery works much the same way as lotteries work in other states. PLEASE provide a response as to why ALL of my entry numbers end in a "1"? I've posted this question two times before, but still do not see a comment from Lucky Zone or my original posts. My entry numbers ALWAYS ends in a 1; i.e. 7001, 2901, 7701, 7901, 7021 etc. It doesn't matter what day or time I enter, the last digit is always a 1. Is this the same for ALL entries? Does this have anything to do with how the numbers are drawn and who wins?

I know it takes a ton of luck to win, but I have almost 200 entries in on the Hot Summer Second Chance drawing, about 15 on each of the Monopoly drawings and I enter just about 20 entries on the Winning Wednesday drawing. Hoping there's a chance I could get something out of one of these drawings. At least get some money back off of all the losing tickets, lol...I think the most I've won on a scratch off is $100; but that's a drop in a bucket compared to what I spend on them.

people! think!!! the more chances you have to win-the more non winning tickets there are. double or triple!. the winning time between big wins on scratch offs in this state is to space out. I still win more in va. then in nc.i can walk in a store in va and win on the first ticket turn around buy another and win. and break even. i drive all over the city(nc) and buy and still get non/wins. somebody somewhere knows whats going on with this system. i think with all the 2nd chance games comes all the non/wins tickets. it's "phys" think we are getting something for nothing. let's nc do better with the odds like va.

The drawings are conducted under the supervision of an auditor according to specific security procedures. They are recorded for security purposes but there is not a physical drawing to watch as is the case with ball machines.

Well NC Lottery has been a '' BIG JOKE'' for the player's. That's right NC Education Lottery is playing us good. It is amazing how much money I have wasted on NC Lottery, Scratch offs along the most I have won at one time was $50.00 and that was a long time coming. The most I have won recently on the $5.00 scratch was a get this are you ready. $10.00. Bought 3 of the $200,000 extreme at one time my investment $15.00. My winnings $0.00 Guess we are fools thinking we're going to win. I agree with everyone else $5.00 investment for a chance at $500 skinny...chance's of winning is skinny also real skinny, heck I bought 3 pick four numbers and picked my on numbers for July 4th I played 7-4-1-3, 4-7-4-3, 3-9-7-6, 3-9-4-7 and would you know it the numbers drawn we're 1-7-9-3 yep missed only by one digit on three tickets. But this happens all the time.

I agree with other comments....this is just another example of the ncel ripping people off. since its inception, the comparison, when taking acct the odds, of prizes to price of tickets is a joke. $5 for 500? that's ridiculous. the same 5 bucks, can be played on pick 3 for same payout, and that puts your odds effectively at 1 in 200. your odds of winning the 500 in this new scratch off game is not going to be 1 in 200, I guarantee you that...save your money. The ncel better start paying out compared to other states like ny, or people will just stop playing.
